How much faster is M5 than E55?

btw, another member that got flashed by eurocharged that day had his car dyno at 438whp before getting tuned, after he drove it around for a week he got it dyno again at the same dyno he did his baseline pull and it was 474whp. So yeah, it must be my car and not the dyno...

just saw it pop up, so here is my two cents, have had both the e39 and e60 m5 myself.
E39, being a manual car, it is very responsive, suspension is well tune. as far as straight line goes, there is a sport mode in the e39 that makes the throttle much more responsive, thus it feels after when driving it.
E60, no doubt it feels faster, but the thing is due to the force induction, the e55 pick up the power quicker, the e60 in the low range rpm docent really have too much power, but once it reaches the top end, the thing fly.
part of all this is because our 5spd tran is pretty ****ty performance wise. the manual mode in WOT is basically useless.. gearing is more toward touring than performance.

e39 is probably the most enjoyable German cars I have ever owned, fun to drive, pretty reliable, good for road trips. the e60, you just have too much to worry and lack of low end torque.
The e55 is great on hwy and daily driving and straight line, but not as fun
