Angry Friday the 13th !! Pulley fell Off 180mm

Hey all

I have a great Morning today, Driving to work and my battery light come on, so i thought it must be the belt must have slipped off.
Opened the bonnet have what do i see ?? My pulley in 2 parts!!!
The pulley bolts had all broken off but luckly my crank was ok.

Pics to follow!

Does anyone know for this to be a common problem on these pulleys ASP 180mm. ???

You mean the 6 bolt ( mine has six, don't know about yours ) that hold the pulley to the hub broke? Did it have any wobble? How long have you had it? It's a best case scenario for a broken pulley though since the fix is easy.

Off topic question for OP. I found an 06 Brabus K8 E55 for sale but it doesnt have the Brabus wheels or Brabus bodykit. It has the Brabus K8 engine components but not the visual components. Did your come with the Brabus wheels and bodykit? Does this car sound legit?

I believe it depends on when it was made. I also believe that the EC pulleys are the same as the ASP one right now.

Sorry to hear but this is scaring me.
Just some questions for you;
How many KMS did you put on the pulley?
Who did the install?
Could you post some pics?

Thanks and GL

I went through a total of 4 eurocharged pulleys that broke apart in a similar fashion as the OP's, I finally got tired of eating the repair costs and returned the car to stock and sold it. They'll probably tell you it was a one off event akin to the collision of stars, don't drink that Kool Aid, I know of quite a few people that have had this happen. Your best bet is to get one of the older one piece designs, they seem to be extremely stout.
