The close-circuit is a controlled environment. The street is not. For the particular moment, you can be race-inspired but unsuspecting motorists aren't.

This alone proves you are not good of a driver.

So incorrect! Caution has minimised accidents at many levels.

The fact isn't about you, but the next person that might be probably unaware or sanity in a questionable state. You are not any safer if you don't factor these in place. You are tossing caution to the wind.

LMAO! you sound like you're still in high school. I have a friend that's paralyzed and confined to a wheel chair now, he had the exact same mindset as you. check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Infineon is only about an hour away from the Bay, even less if you're in north bay not that far if you ask me. trust me ive been out to all kinds of PR's, 7th street runs in Oakland, Antioch runs...you name it if it was a local street race setup, ive been there. fun at first, but I'd rather have time slips in my glove compartment.

Hands down THE best post so far. I still street race here and there, but dumb stuff, rarely over 60mph, thats all I need.

Well, with age and time you learn how to be a bit more careful about what you do in life - especially when it comes to things that can actually hurt or kill you, like a car.

It is very normal for males, especially in the 18-30 age, to be brazen and fearless when it comes to this type of stuff. That's why the insurance rates are so high, look at the statistics.

Trust me, I know that feeling of throwing caution to the wind too. I think most of us do. But there comes a time, where you wake up, and hopefully it's before something serious happens. All it takes is one little second. Sometimes your car is perfect and everything is going right, but one little event can throw it off. In this case, your case was far from perfect and could have potentially caused you to go off path at such speeds.

Sometimes you notice but don't mind this, because when you are racing someone else, it is indeed very exciting and feels great.

We all like adrenaline, but I would like to still be able to feel adrenaline in my older age, and not have it end in my 20's.

Couldn't agree more! I have cut back a lot on uncontrolled stupidity, especially in a car! I even started wearing condoms! jk but I couldn't agree more, the older you get the more you come to grips with your own mortality, and self-preservation ranks extremely high on your list!

Really man? Really?

Good lord. The best news isn't that you didn't kill yourself, it's that you didn't kill the father, crossing the street with his 3 and 5 year old sons. You know, like me.

Spend $300 like me and get a clearanced 19in rim with tire as a spare. At least you have POM if you get a bent rim again. Replicas have been known to come completely apart after hitting a curb/pothole/raised manhole cover.

I bet you would be telling a different story if you lost control, went into another lane, smashed into another vehicle and killed everyone in it... Maybe someones mom, daughter? kids?

To the OP: You have made some critical errors. Seriously.

1. Racing after you KNOW you hit a pothole.
2. Oh wait....racing on the street.
3. Continuing to accelerate AFTER feeling severe vibration.
4. Trolling on MBWorld.
5. You actually said you are going race him again in the vette, and you like to "outrun cops".

WOW. You have got to be inciting this. You get the...TRIPLE FACE PALM sir.

Gotta have more facepalm....

You don't honestly believe your superior driving skills would allow you to control a car with a blow out at 140 MPH... do you?

I think I would have died seriously though. But do you think that affected the acceleration of my car?

I think it could have some, but I don't think it would have been much.

What kind of mods are you running?
