Nice, which GT-R after 50hp power bump?

No, he's getting an '09, although they're few-and-few-between and hold their resale value in an impressive way.

I didn't think there was a need for me to comment.

A stock CTS-V against a stock E55 is a pretty good race. I have a lot of respect for the E55. I am not surprised at the video.

The E55 was closer than I thought, the CTS-V should definitely beat it in a line with not-60 of 3.9 and faster to 100, but if you saw the topgear where they went head up from 120-150 the V loses its edge on something like the E55 or M5, The lack of a limiter gives it the outwright edger, as suprising for a cadillac. The supension is tight and handling works well, it can turn well not much sliding even with stabilitrak off. The 55 would have beaten the old CTSV

Are you referencing the Autocar video where they put the CTS-V up against the M5? That same video showed the CTS-V barely cracking 110mph in the 1/4m. It was a complete sham.

Yes a stock one,,and M5 was already far behind at that point. The CTS V is a superior car to the M5 and E55 hands down!

I'll put my stock E55 up against any stock CTS-V in a 1/4 street tires or drag radials.

Close race(s). To be honest, I'm happy my 7 year old car(!) can still keep up with a very modern super sedan. ('11 CTS-V.)

I mean our E55's were engineered/developed in the late 90's early 2000's so give some credit to the old girl!

The fact that the M5 has been through 2-3 signicant revisions/upgrades during this same time and my ancient E55 can still clean the floor like a Swifer with it is credit to the MB engineers.

Remember, there will always be something faster out there but I have zero regrets with going with my E55 and my license plate, "GONEIN4" is perfectly appropriate.

Now just wait until I get the full headers/exhaust system on top of what I have now!

HAMMER TIME!!!

My buddy has a 2010 CTS-V w/manual tranny. Here is what he sent me when he dyno'd last week:

There is no way a stock cts-v will put down 516whp. I know someone locally that put down 430whp on his cts-v ( on the same dyno that I put down my 507whp ). How is there an near 80whp difference? He'd have the only 600hp CTS-V Cadillac ever offered...lol.

The manual CTS-Vs are known to dyno 30rwhp more (on average) than the auto CTS-Vs. My completely stock auto CTS-V dyno'ed "only" 462rwhp on a Dynojet. I am curious what type of dyno your buddy ran on.

There are a couple of stock CTS-Vs (mostly manuals) going over 500rwhp. It all depends on the type of dyno.

Don't get your feelings hurt, GT-ER.

I'll ask. It was done at Cozzolino Motorsports in Indy. We were in town for an event and he brought along his CTS-V.

I didn't mean it to sound as if he was lying or something. What I mean is that that kind of power is just not realistic. I know dyno's constantly read all over the place thus making them useless to compare one car from the next ( assuming they aren't tested on the same identical dyno on the same day ) but 516whp is pretty crazy.

I went to their website. It looks like they have a Dynojet.

BTW... your Estate looks incredible with those wheels!

I am always heading up to Frederick... maybe I will see you around.

On the subject of mods for a bigger pulley and tune on the new CTS-V, what kind of cost are we looking at?

Just curious.

I put down 455 bone stock on a very reliable and accurate dyno.

HammerDown, 11.7 bone stock with slicks is extremely impressive; you might have a factory freak E55.

The 9.55" lower pulley kit was ~ $900. CAI is ~ $250-$400, like any other car, but the gains are about the same. A tune is also subjective, but a couple hundred bucks for a good dyno tune is expected. I also added a heat exchanger, but that's not absolutely necessary.

Very impressive. There are several V's that were running 11s bone stock on the factory tires. I'll look and see what the best times are for stock V's on drag radials.

Thanks. We should get some local MD-ers together. I would love to check out your GT-R. I live over by Sugarloaf Mtn. Benz-o-rama (Clayton) lives near me, too.
