E55 vs CTS-V
This may have been posted before but I don't remember seeing it. This is the first good run between the two cars in stock form that I've seen. The old girl hangs in pretty good

I thought stock CTS-Vs were supposed to blow E55's away by bus lengths like ItalianStallion's "stock" V did to a fellow forum member's E55. Thanks for the vids proving that you could also beat a CTS-V.

That video is exactly what I'd expect.
I respect the hell out of the V. The way I see it these two cars share the same dna.

The power to weight doesn't support that at all. An E55 is only about 30hp short which isn't alot when its a 4000lb+ car. Then consider the fact that the 55 makes nearly the same torque (going by dynos, not strictly ther published 516lb-ft) but at lower rpms its even closer then 30 imo.

Its well known that the 55k motors make 493hp across the board and they consistently dyno closer to 540trq. The advertised curb of a V is approx 4300 depending on your source. That gives it a p/w ratio of 7.73. A 4050lb E55 needs 524hp to match that or about 30 more then it already has which isn't a huge margin given its size. 30 more hp isn't going to blow you away unless youre on two wheels.

It would be interesting to run you on street tires and me on drag radials at the strip. I think you would win but not by much.

However, you're still not considering gear ratios. It's not all about power to weight ratio.
| E55 | CTS-V
1st | 3.59 | 2.66
2nd | 2.19 | 1.78
3rd | 1.41 | 1.30
4th | 1.00 | 1.00
5th | 0.83 | 0.80
6th | --- | 0.63
Final | 2.65 | 3.73
What that rear gear, the CTS-V has the definite multiplication advantage.
Crap.....the table code isn't turned on here. Oh well.

Yes, NXtremeJeep; his car is listed "For Sale." He's getting a GTR.
There are some videos where we raced while in Mexico . . . I don't know if I have video of CTS-V + pulley/tune v. his E55 + pulley/tune, but I know I have some of me stock verse his pulley/tune that I can post.

Good run
I find my E55 so unpredictable that any outcome is possible. Since I added pulley and tune, car is much stronger but still very much affected by outside temps. On a cool day and assuming traction is not an issue, I would bet on my E55 against either cts-v,M5 or M6, especially from the dig. On a hot day, not so sure. My neighbor has a Lingenfelter cts-v coup (pulley and tune), which he claims puts out 630 horsepower. I would not run him even on a good day.
