Z06 Run in
Don't really know the year, but is probably a late model of the previous series.
I'm coming home from work, pretty stressed and tired so was just looking forward to getting home. A black Z06 pulls next to me at a light. I didn't think much of it, but I just peaked over. There was what looked liked a hot girl through the tint sitting in the passenger side. Normally I don't like to race on the street for numerous reasons, but I couldn't help it.
Couple cars cut me off so it took about two lights to finally pull up and it seemed like he knew b/c he changed lanes to get next to me. As soon as I got head to head at around 40 mph, I slammed it and starting pulling away. Unfortunately it was a little less than a block before an SUV cut me off. Neither one of us made I eye contact, but satisfying none the less since his lady was in the car.
Back to my professional mild manner ways.

without dr's and clutch c6z is going to have a hard time with a modded e55 from a dig...a stock z should have your mph tho. i trapped 123 stock

Nice run... I know the power of the C6 Z06 all too well. Ive only had 2 run ins... First time was near my home we both lined up and I absolutely murdered him off the line. I was so far ahead he just gave up. I knew he didn't know how to launch the car. So, I really don't count that.
2nd time was a freeway roll with a different car. I would peak ahead for a brief moment and then the C6 Z06 ran away from me. It wasn't even funny how fast he pulled away... First time that my car felt slow to me.

The Z06 is a car that deserves respect. They are an amazing amount of car for a reasonable price.

I owned a ZO6 as well...fast cars. However, it was annoying as heck to use as a DD. The novelty wears off very quickly. But, yes it's a fast car, however I have been in much faster modded C5s. A few of my buddies had modded (S/C, heads, cam, LTs, etc) C5s at the time that were pushing 700 RWHP. The launch was tough, but from a roll they were insane.
