Anyone know what the paint finish used on the SLR intercoolers are? Like a matt /satin black powder coating, but has a fairly abrasive feel?

Thats different to hammered look right?

Want to do my surge tanks and cam covers in same.

 

It looks to me to be black wrinkle finish. VHT makes some decent spray can stuff to do it.

yep, it you wonder if AMG knew about the potential issues all along?????

 

I don't think AMG thought we would be making 200chp more than stock with the M113K's so I don't think they expected the fuel issues.

We have a solution now though!

If you want to do it yourself you might try emailing a photo or two to Eastwood to solicit their advise. They have tons of finishes and could probably advise the best color/style paint to match what you are looking for.

Looks like dual fuel inlets too. Wonder if the SLR runs 2 pumps.

 

Those pods on the side are fuel pressure regulators right? They could just loop into the fuel inlet feed and balance the pressure left : right ... perfectly.

Pretty neat design.

Could also be dual pump....

That's wrinkle black powder coat. I did the cam covers on my 911 like that. Looked great.

 

Thanks guys ... now that i found the right paint finish I am wondering if it will be a bit dull... mbe cam covers in red and surge tanks in the black...

make the cam covers stand out a bit
