OOOOPS Maybe i should read the whole thread and look at dates before I post

No no there keeping it blue it's going to stay that way. Mercedes is always changing stuff. 1st pink thand 2nd blue wtf is next orange. What they should had done was upgrade the coolant which they did but keep it in the same color pink instead of changing it to blue.

Sticking with MB coolant

I would go for another brand of coolant but it seems that the price isn't too bad for MB coolant. Has anyone thought about using an additive in the coolant? Like the VR-12? I know its marketed toi be gentle on the environment but I'm not an environmentalist or anything like that.

What are your thoughts on this? Should I still consider Zerez G-05?

No anything that has to do with the radiators on these cars should only be used by mercedes. Price is fair $25 for 1 gallon that makes out 2 gallons when mixed with water. It had to be mixed because coolant is thick water isn't. 03 and 04 on the 55K cars had a history of malfunctions and leakage of the radiator and was upgraded on the 55K models 05 and up. Keep that in mind. Use the mercedes brand 55k owners tend to use aftermarket parts and than cry on this forum about the problems. USE THE MERCEDES RECOMMENDED PARTS.

If your crying about coolant prices go buy a Honda SI. WTF is wrong with people lol you drive an AMG, AMG yes AMG again AMG. Of course parts and fluids cost a little bit more, on the other hand flush that Escalade of yours with some green universal coolant and report back after some time! Don't worry dextron cost too much green ***** will work just fine and save you a few dollars.

Not trying to be an ******* but really saving a few dollars on coolant!

Easy enough, I'm a novice so I'll purchase the MB coolant. Was just curious about it. A buddy of mine used another brand with no issues, so far. Wondered what the gurus on here had to say. Thanks for the reply.

Not crying about prices. Just asking for info on a simple topic. No need to be a jerk.

It wasn't directed towards you, but I admit I made it seem that way by throwing the escalade in the mix...I just see silly post of people not wanting OEM over a few dollars all the time...WHY?
My apologies to you Sir...

I feel that the car is more legit of the real thing(AMG) when using the manefacturers parts (OEM). Yea they are pricey but when bought and installed it really makes a difference in your car (VALUE) and your life (NOT BEING STRANDED) bottom line ^ that is the truth. The only after market that I recommend that has a high reputation of small to big upgrades is RENTECH. VERY VERY pricey but they have parts for the coolant system that ensures complete cooling comfort for the engine. Quite frankly even though my AMG is payed off I still can't afford it but for those who can here you go with that info.

a guy that worked on mercs for over 20 years told me go 100% antifreeze no 5050 . i mixed a 70/30 mix . it makes sense if you live in a 4 season when fall comes just brain a bit and add distilled water.

It makes no difference, which color of the coolant as long as the stuff works as designed.
