There is the annoying creaking that can develop from it though. I only notice it on side angles when the whole chassis is twist flexing so it doesn't bother me, but my buddy got an '06 E55 with pano and his was annoyingly bad so he swapped for a no-pano same year...

I wish my '07 E63 had the P30 package, but I never wanted that stupid Distronic anyway. The Pano roof I love, and get compliments on from almost everyone who rides in the car. I am not sure if the year matters, but mine has a power rear window shade, but not the rear side window shades, which would be nice to have. Also, when I added the OEM iPod kit I paid extra to get an updated OEM cable that is specifically for charging and playing the iPhone 4 through the OEM COMAND center. Previous iPod cables did not charge the iPhone 4 from what I am told.

Pano is not a sticking point for me really. I never opened the sunroof in my Bimmer. I'm a vampire.

Finally a call back from a dealer! I'm going to wrap this baby up soon boys.

Good info right there.

The first one sounds like a good buy.... very low mileage and still under $60k  Is there an easy way to find out what options they have online?

Can someone explain how CPO works as well? What does it cover, what does it not cover?

What about the period of time it covers? From your purchase? From the in-service date?

Vic can probably trace it for ya.... from the numbers above, I would think your car will go for $50k (maybe slightly less).

CPO starts after your initial factory warranty ends and factory warranty ends after 4-years or 50,000 miles from the in-service date of the vehicle. Usually, whenever you buy a CPO car, you automatically get 1-year/100,000 miles of CPO coverage. You can extend it by up to 3 additional years but the miles would still be limited to 100,000 miles.

CPO covers most of what the initial warranty covers except for wear-and-tear items as well as a few other exclusions. It'd be hard to list all the differences without having both contracts on hand. Compared to all aftermarket alternatives, however, CPO is probably the best warranty you can get.

When are we going to see pictures? :D

About a month or two ago, Fletcher Jones in Fremont had something similar to what you are looking for (approx. $62k asking price with around $18,000 miles).

Re: P30

An independant dealer in PA has (maybe sold by now) an 08 P30 in white/tan. Every option except distronic, 8K miles. It did have Pano and also side window blinds. He was at $59K. Car looked absolutely perfect, you might want to check Autotrader and see if he still has it.

Lycan 06-01-2011 11:27 PM

I was in your boat 6 months ago. Found a P30 sitting on a showroom floor listed at $63K. I got it for $54K OTD. Mine is a 2008, Pano roof, P30, 24K miles, CPO, etc. The P30s are very hard to find...but worth the search if you like a very rigid ride (I do).

Check Germantown Euromotor Cars...they have a P30 CLS63 AMG, black, 2008, in stock right now.

nardeezy@yahoo. 06-01-2011 11:45 PM

That's an amazing deal! Asking $63k and you got it for $54k OTD! It's like the dealer made nothing, that's like $15k under (assuming you paid CA state taxes)! Do they have state sales tax where you live? Was the car sitting for a long ass time? Please PM me or reply with your negotiating strategy?

Lycan 06-01-2011 11:54 PM

I got mine in Maryland. It was a tough decision because there were three local dealerships selling 2007-2009 E63s (non-P30) for around $47K. At that time I wasn't really that educated about the E63 MBs and wasn't 100% sure what I was looking at. All of them looked alike to me. It took several days and a lot of education...but I played stupid with them and just said, "hey if you don't sell me the E63 for $48K then I will go around the corner and buy the other guys."

They laughed and said no way. I told them no way $63K. We settled on $54K OTD after several hours. My budget was $48K, but went the extra $$$ for the Performance Package. Plus the car was very clean. That was still high for a 2008, but the car had all new rotors, tires, and CPO. So I took the plunge.

Ohh yeah...to be fair I traded in a 2011 Camaro SS on the car...so I got a tax break. I only paid tax on the difference.

220S 06-02-2011 12:56 AM

fwiw, there's a new CPO extension that's 3 years and 135k now. They announced it in February of this year.

Not in CA, even if you have a trade-in they still tax you on the sale price of the car. Either way, you still got a killer deal based on the auction prices posted earlier. Congrats!

Let me know if you skip the CPO and do after market extended warranty

Looking for a reputable company to do my cars, was quoted more than 10k$ from Easycare on the M6
1st auto said they wouldn't even warranty it :(

FYI,

When I bought my car I purchased the 2 years additional Mercedes CPO for $4275 thru the dealer. However, after extensive research, I made a decision today to go with the mechanical repair coverage program that was offered thru my credit union (Members Choice Platinum). It's an additive 5yr/60k $100 deductible warranty for $2709 (my car is just over 4 years new with 33.6k miles). The only downside is that I'll be double covered for one year due to the remaining Mercedes CPO coverage but the price was well worth it. If I were to wait another year with an additional 10k miles, the price would've increased even if I did a 4yr/48k plan.

I was also highly considering Bruce Mendel for an N.A.C. plan.

That is a SICK deal my friend. You are a beast and I am feeding off your success here.

I'm negotiating for that as well.

The 2009's are holding a premium over the '08's right now of around $10k. I know this $10k will completely evaporate, if not more, in my first year of ownership. I guess that's the price of admission.

Cylinder Head 06-03-2011 12:01 PM

Found an '09 with 18k miles on it, 64500 OTD with the 3yr Extended CPO till Jan 1 2016. Good deal or no?

Doubt I'll even have the car until that long, will it help with the resale or should I go with the shorter option?

V12Godspeed 06-03-2011 12:21 PM

What's up CH- Glad you are coming to the AMG side, the warranty always gives peace of mind. Just make sure you like tha car. :y

When you say 64500 otd does that include taxes or is this the cash sales price?

64500 all in is not bad but if its just the cash price plus taxes; its too much.

I dunno Vic I just got the email but I would doubt the taxes are included for NJ as this is a CA car (in my territory for work so I'm flying out to do the paperwork. In NJ they'll tax me on the lein (I'm putting 50% down).

ETA: They also replaced the brakes recently as well as the tires, which I was told factored into the price.

Moxxon 06-03-2011 02:43 PM

I replied to the other thread but in my opinion you HAVE to wait for an 09 that comes along at the price you're willing to pay. The COMAND alone is worth it.
