I would hit him up anyway. I dont think it matters who you bought the product from, they warranty the part, not the name on the receipt. Even if they can just weld it for you I think that's better then nothing...

I definitely think you should replace the motor mounts. I went through this with a customer last summer, and his mounts were not leaking or cracked, just collapsed. Over the winter, I had another customer with stock manifolds break at the collector because he had bad mounts. His were leaking and when I took them out, the passenger side upper portion had completely separated from the lower portion.

Also, at the same time, you might look at the SLK55 transmission mount, because it is a solid rubber design versus the crappy OEM mount used on every other model MB out there.

I already posted above I'm going to do a refresh of the mounts (even though the dealer states they're okay). So I think the SLK55 mount you're referring to is part no. 212 240 04 18. Is that the correct number? Thanks.

Update:

I've been in contact with Evosport and will be sending them the headers for repair.

Did the surgery and reinstalled new mounts and the factory logs. The driver side header was not cracked. The passenger side header had a crack extending about 2/3 around the entire pipe:

My MB dealer, who discovered the crack during a routine Service "A", inspected the motor mounts at the time and said they were fine. I've replaced the mounts now, anyway, as a precautionary measure.

That definitely looks like a motor mount issue. Glad to hear you replaced them!

Let me know when the headers are inbound to us.

thanks

Sorry for the ignorant question - So an E55 can use solid rubber SLK55 transmission mounts to replace the fluid filled motor mounts? I just want to clarify that for the future when mine need swapping...thx
