Under the knife part two, HELP needed guys
We have hit a hurdle and where else to turn to but the experts. After the install of my larger intercooler, heat exchanger and trunk mounted reservoir, my IATS are way high at 176*.
We have not been able to tune the car as a result but I do have a few questions for guys with trunk mounted reservoirs. My setup only has one Meziere pump in the stock location which is pumping the whole split cooling system, here is a vid of the trunk mount water flow:
I am thinking one of three things:
1) A massive bubble in the system somewhere
2) Meziere is pumping the water to fast to cool it
3) One pump is not enough, pumping the system too slow
Could those with a trunk mount reveal their system

Hopefully Brooke or Shardul can chime in, but I was under the impression that an in-tank pump should be used, or at least a separate pump should be put in supplemental to the one at the front of the car.

Chawkins, Looks like you might have airpockets in the lines or intercoolers. Have you tried bleeding the entire system? If pump is working and water is circulating I can only see air in the system as a probable cause.

I am starting to think that one pump upfront it not enough as the stock cooling with the meziere gave better iats. When we added all the heavy duty components and tried to tune the car, the iats were sky high almost resembling a failing pump scenario.

i have a intank pump in my reservoir. So here is the flow in the system: Front H/E to rear tank to intank pump to meziere pump to S/C.
This flow setup works since after a run at the texas mile the fluid was still cool

So If im correct, You guys are basically saying the pump is sucking the water so fast it is taking in air? and the other pump would in turn feed the Meizzere?

after runs, you can easliy stick your hand in the rear tank and the water is cool.
Rule2000 bilge pump ftw!
Also, check that none of the lines are kinked, as they can trap air that way as well, and use the best lines that you can get.

That bilge pump would do the trick.

BTW I have new a extra tank sitting around like the one in my prevous post if you want to buy it. all you would need is a bilge pump.

I am with the guy who said air bubbles. DAMN, it's like you are blowing bubbles out of there. Mine just looks like the water is bumpy with zero air as it flows.
Before major surgery, at least work on trying to get the system bled. All that being said, I have 2 pumps as well. No bilge though. Most early systems had one Johnson pushing front and one Johnson in the front pushing back.

I have settled on a cm30 back there for the interim as there is one in the shop. Since my tank is not as big as others, I am going to order another meziere WP136S and stick it back there for the long run.

We added the cm30 back there, and it increased the flow tremendously, however, the Meziere pump upfront was making a very audible humming noise. How loud are the meziere's, because when it was pumping on its own, it was dead quiet. Anyone have a sound clip of their meziere upfront pumping?
