The E coupes just don't look right to me. They look too stretched, and aren't sporty enough to warrant the change in design.

If the E Coupe was actually based and balanced on an actual E-Chassis, giving it a more graceful size, then IMO it would have probably been epic. Instead, it gets the C-Chassis, which makes it more compact and stubby, which IMO doesn't give it the premium look of the proper E on the proper E chassis. I still do like it, but I see too much "C" in it to justify it.

I just barely got myself a 550i with the M-Sport package just like this one ( only charcoal gray ):

The big issue I had with it was that it simply wasn't the monster the E55 was...so I got the E55 and never looked back. The 550 is a sweet looking car though.

My little bro just got one in a dark silver color. I must admit its a very nice car. Its different when you hop in a luxury sadan. My car, to me, feels and sounds like a dirty pig. My bro's BMW feels and drives like a Lexus. They are two completely different animals so I guess you cant even compare them.

The M5 on the other hand looks tit$ its just that the drive is a complete disaster. I would compare it to one of those jerky wooden roller-coasters.
I'm sure new ones are nice and smooth but I just drove a 2006 with 58K miles and the SMG felt like it was ready to rattle off. It made me appreciate my filthy pig so much.

The smg tranny can be fun, but for daily driving its a nusiance...hence why I sold my m6.

In S6 mode (hardest shift setting), my radar would fall off when shifting gears from 1st to 2nd, it literally BANGS into gear lol

In city the S85 V10 is horrible... it shines on the highway

The plus side on that is that you are getting a shorter wheelbase from the C class, which enhances the handling of the car (in addition to shaving 400 lbs.). You still get the E-class suspension w/ adaptive dampening and all the interior amenities. The downside, as you mentioned, is that it's shorter than the standard E, but that's ok because coupes aren't meant to be hauling people around...

It's a really amazing platform IMO, I've seen the car on the highway a few times out on the LIE and it looks really different compared to any other car out there. If I were in the market for mid 50k coupe, I'd grab it over the S5 or 335i/s (which I had previously).
