Porting The SUpercharger

Has this been done before? If not I wonder how hard it would be to do.

Can't really port this SC. You can port the TB snout some, but not really alot to work on there.

There is not much hp you can gain by porting the S/C. The real thing is ported heads

not mine yet. but they are being produced in houston.
one set has been installed on a CLS and the gains are healthy. boost drop and more power is made via these heads. The tension on the valve springs is also checked and brough back to spec via shims it needed.
I think the head porter will have another set ready if someone is interested.

BTW the person who ports these heads is the same person that some of the popular lambo shops use.

Those heads have stock valves. You can see the difference compared to my ported heads with larger valves.

This has been done a few times before, but with mixed results. It depends what type of mods you have. I would recommend porting the exit of the blower only.

Not really, this would be after every other mod possible since little gains are to be had.

Below is the exit of the blower. You want to port the "triangular section" that blows the compressed air into the intercooler.

Was talking to a guy in Jersey years ago who claimed with an adapter, he knew a guy who was running another blower. Just can't imagine the ECU of death accepting that but he claimed he was running a larger blower and getting great results.

Hmmmmm

Yes, it's work intense. Zero, engine is currently disassembled.

Yeah, I agree.. Hmmmmmm. Our mad ECU would have a feild day with a different blower.

How is your beast running these days bro? You were one of the first guys to get to most mods and power out of the 55's back in the day.

Interesting and if you go with a 600 w220 TB and porting the rear of the charger, how many gains in HP? Does it make a difference really?

you can go with CLK DTM S/C which has bigger inlet and outlet. it can be seen in the picture.

but it will need a tune to switch off the below valve. as it comes without one.

part # start with 155 rather than 113.

Look closer & Check twice

Hey
Look at the Post #11. Check how close the valve head is to the spark plug exit hole & Thread?? This motor has oversized valves. and the travel angle when it opens . And the spark plug angle !! If someone index's the plug , so the J strap is at the intake valve . They will touch and BANG!!! I remember about 4 years age VRP in Cali. Had a spark plug crushing Issue! and even posted some of the damage . Then about 2 years ago the motor had a exhaust valve clearance Issue . from a Valve float at hi rpm . I’m now thinking quite different HUMMM
Cheers _PTEngineering
