And with very low humidity (10% or so) you can stand outside in 100+ temps for 10-15 minutes before really even breaking a sweat.

Plus we have 9 goegous months with 65-85 temps and only 3 "Bad months" with the heat. Most other places in the US this ratio is reversed with 9 "Bad/Winter" months and 3 good months.

So it's not so nice now, but talk to us in January when most of you are snowed in.

Love it here...zero regrets in moving from Sillicon Valley!

Alex
Got to agree with you on this. While not AZ, I moved 3 years ago from NYC to Denver, and don't miss the humidity at all. Dry heat AND dry cold is great. Some how with humidity the hot days feel hotter and the cold days feel colder. It's 97 today in Denver, but if you stay in the shade it's not that bad.

And btw, it's a myth that all it does is now in Denver. Yes, the mountains had 200+% snow fall this year 700 inches for many resorts, but we had 30 in Denver, and several mid-60's days in Jan and Feb. I recall this past winter it was snowing 2ft @ Breck (1.5hrs away), and I was golfing.

9 months out of the year the weather is unbelievable out here, If it gets to hot, your only a 2 hour dive north to 80 degrees. Its a nice trade off when you can drive a little bit and swap cactus for pine trees.

This is good!
That gauge in your picture is showing you engine coolant temp, not IAT, or Intake Air Temperature.

You'd need an OBDII scan tool, a dedicated gauge, or you can use the A/C controller trick on the W211's to see IAT

I lived in Tucson (actually Nogales right on the Sonora MX border.) I remember my first monsoon. 105 degrees out and then RAIN! The humidity went up to 100%. At least it doesn't last for very long. Nice area, though. Like you said, you can drive up into the mountains and cool down.

Here today it's the usual 68 degrees and sunny with an ocean breeze. It's like this just about every day and with some sea fog coming in at sunset. Perfect.

Nobody cares about our Southern California coastal clime.

Sea level is good for DA. And hotties in bikinis too.

Moved from NYC to Phoenix 5 years ago today. I love the 8 months of perfect weather and not having to shovel snow. They invented air conditioning for a reason. The only thing I miss is the food back east.

it's hard to beat az lakes during the summer...nice and cool and there are as many (if not more) bikinis as any beach i've been to. also, if you don't mind getting out at sunrise to beat the heat, you can get in a 3hr round of golf at some of the top courses in the nation for pocket change!!

The food back east is so much better than AZ

+1, The lakes out here in the summer are a sight to see. No matter how majestic the lake is. The girls will have you forgetting how how nice the backdrop is. I've been to a few cove parties in my day and each one is so much fun.

Between lakes Havasu, Powell, Pleasant, and others its a sight everyone over 18 should see.

68 and a little damp in Seattle.
Wish I was down at the house in AZ, it's only 85 in the garage ;-) When I'm up here I keep the AC in the garage up a little higher than when I'm home in Fountain Hills.

^I thought I was the only crazy one with AC in my garage here in AZ.

I like to kick it in my garage a lot, but damn these few months are hot.

Hey MBH, I haven't been down to Dyno comp in a while. How are things?

I sold that white WRX and picked up an 07 limited STi. I don't know if i want to molest it just yet, The limited part makes me rethink modding it.

Nope, my garage is nice and cooled too. Serves as the get away from the kids area. As for Old Town Scottsdale that place is great for the views at night.

Actually, thinking about doing this as well as my gym is in my garage. Can you share with me how you did (what type of AC unit/etc) or did your house come this way?

Thanks!

Alex

No I had it installed after we bought the house.

I shopped around to get the best price and got one of the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless units installed. It actually qualified for the federal rebates at the time too. Best money I ever spent as I also use the garage as my gym as well. I set it on a timer so that it cools it off before I wake up. Turns off when I'm not home and cools it off right before I get home.

Plenty of people have expressed interest over the months, but noone has really stepped up and organized anything.

I'd be up for a meet up!
