Car has TPMS or not?
How can I find out if my car is equipped with TPMS?
Tirerack is asking whether my car comes equipped with this or not? With TPMS or Without TPMS?
My manual talks about the E-series in general, nothing specific about the E55 and doesn't mention anything about the TPMS.
Visually, I can't see anything different on the valve stems on the car.
Forum search didn't provide much input/feedback ...
Any help? Thank you.

All you need to do is check in your MFD (Multi Function Display in speedo)
I think you will find it in top file "speed/temp" then page up and you should see the display of your tire pressures. If you page down it will tell you your oil level. I don't have my car here now but I know the display is in there, I could be wrong so if you don't see it right away, keep looking around in the MFD menu.
I am about 100% sure all E55s came with TPMS but the newer cars E63 don't read PSI they are pass fail.
BTW has anybody found a cheap source for the TPMS sensors last I heard the ones for E 55 were $175 each. Ouch

I think the easiest way, is to just look at the car. As mentioned above. If the valve stems are black rubber then no, if they are metal then yes.

It'll be on the VMI if the car came with it or not. Of course, the easiest way to tell is to check the IC display just like you said.
There are two kinds of TPMS, low level and high level. The high level is required in Canada but not in the USA. The high level shows psi and the low level doesn't. Apparently Steve@BenzNL can add TPMS (either level) to cars without it. I know that Marc Cummins had it done on his W211 via Steve's magic.
