Yesterday I drove down to Dinah's in Playa for some fried chicken. On the way back I got lost and I saw an on ramp for the 405N. They are doing construction so it's one of those long temporary on ramps, it must have been 1/6 of a mile long. I'm waiting for a left turn arrow (its a two lane left turn) and this big *** gangmember chick pulls up in a brand new Toyota Camry. She throws me a look and says something to her boyfriend sitting shotty. They instantly turn up their gamgmember music and I have a feeling that when the green left arrow turns they'll probably try to race me to the on ramp.

The arrow turned green and because they were on the inside lane they were in first position to turn right on to the on ramp. As I anticipated, she buried her foot on that pedal. I did too. By the time I was merging into the 405, all I could see were two tiny headlights in my rear view mirror. It was a really nice launch, you know, the rare perfect launch. It felt like I was in warp speed by the time I was merging and I can only imagine what they thought inside that Camry ""

I guess what I'm trying to say is that regular cars on the road stand no chance. Of course, there are some monsters out there that will give us a good run, even take us down in proper conditions. As far as your generic regular car, it's not even a joke. Something that always gets me is why would someone go and pay $30K for a new V6 Camry when they can get a several year old German built luxury rocket ship for the same price, maybe even less??

While I chose to get the used rocket for $30K, I totally get why someone would get a new camry for $30K. They want a boring slow car that will need no servicing for most of it's lifetime due to warranty and good build quality and they just simply don't care...plus their car smells new.
