Come get your Techron!
AdvanceAuto has the 20oz Techron Concentrate for BOGO free.
I just bought 8 bottles for $50.00. Hello, clean injectors.
Thought I'd share.

I know where you're going with this. Yes, they exist out here.
The concentration level of the detergent found in their pump gas, isn't near the level found in the concentrated formula you can get on the shelf. But yes, after using this product, it is smart to continue to use Chevron Supreme, even if it's only for the techron in the fuel. All of the major gas companies have some sort of detergent additives. Supposedly, Techron is the most effective. YMMV.

It's the mack daddy fuel system detergent/cleaner that MB recommends.

I was just wondering if it was necessary to run this as well as using the techron gas at the pump or if it was in sufficient amounts at the pump?
EDIT: aaaaand you just answered my question above haha!!

Here is a direct email from Chevron about using additional Techron in addition to what's already added to their gasoline. I'm just saying to maybe be careful.....
"Thank you for the inquiry. There is no need to change your vehicles oil after using the Techron Concentrate Plus (TCP). However, Chevron does recommend that you use no more than 5 treatments of the TCP per oil change.
With the use of the TCP there is a concentration of the product in your gas tank which is at least 10 times higher than what is in the gasoline itself. This higher dosage might create the chance that some of the product will manage to get into the oil crankcase and react with certain oil additives therein or dilute the oil itself. This is the main reason for the limitation of use - customers would not want to "overdose" and cause an unsatisfactory amount of the product to be diluting the oil. The directions for use are such that any dilution that might occur would not be a problem.
Again, It makes no difference if you add the Techron Concentrate before or after the oil change.
Regards,
Chevron Fuels Technical Services"

Be careful that you don't use too much as it can contaminate your oil. This is a concern among us Porsche owners (esp with 993s and the dry sump air/oil cooled motors.) Many were concerned about changing the oil after using Techron. And many argue that there really is not a huge reason to add more if you already use Chevron gasoline. But you can overdose on Techron.

5 times per oil change seems cookoo to me, though. Who the hell would do that? I use it once per oil change, or every other oil change (Every 5K miles in all cars). MBUSA does recommend this stuff too, BTW.
But yes, you don't want to go crazy with any additive.

Yes sir. This is all exactly correct.

The 993 motor has weak valve guide material. The SAI port can get clogged with carbon build up and Techron helps a lot. I use Chevron and Techron in all my cars. And with the latest DFI motors I think it's wise to do so. Porsche and Audi are already noting carbon build up. And MB has DFI in the newer motors now, too.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
In the past I did before and after camera visuals in other cars, the difference was night and day in the combustion compartment. I would use nothing else.

The labeling on the Techron bottles say every 3k, I wouldn't use it any more often than that. Personally I would use a bottle every oil change or 5K miles.
