Defrost Always Blowing Air

Defrost Always Blowing Air
I just bought an '04 E55. I love the car and I am currently taking care of the few issues it came with.
The right side defrost vent always blows and the passenger side vents are always blowing weak (defrost robbing some airflow). This happens in auto and manual settings.
Second issue. The AC compressor sometimes does not engage after start for a few minutes (seems to be when the cabin is really hot) until I get the engine rpm up a bit. Cools good once its on. This first appeared after I used the rest function after shutdown but now it is random.
Any thoughts?
Is there a button combination that will reset the ventilation door/flappers?
Thanks

Ok there are 3 diagnostic tests you can do from the A/C control unit, one displays sensor values, the second recalls fault codes, the third tests the flap controls.
I found the directions for the first test here,

Found this for w210, many functions are the same in the A/C controller.

If this won't work then try starteck.
