Thanks! It is also mentioned that the 2002 SL55 doesn't have one either. I'm sure the only real reason they put one is for torque managment because even at idle it's apparently closed ( which is the reason why the s/c spins at idle even though the clutch is disengaged ). Regardless, there IS such a thing as a 55K without this bypass valve. Hmmmmmmmm....interesting.
