W211 E Class - Ugly?

No bias by the way guys, pretend you don't own the car, give a straight up opinion on LOOKS and looks alone, doesn't matter if the engine is making 100 megahp.

Oh and I love the rear of the E55/63
E55 is a stunning marriage of style and performance that is hard to beat in either category, and THAT is not easy to accomplish.
But, you asked for the looks, so I'll reiterate--it's a gorgeous design, stylish, elegant, and still threatening.
This guy is total

Very similiar to....
For example:

That looks normal, those wheels look nice and big and the car's stance is just perfect.

Car looks a little weird and do those wheels look like 14s or 13s
I know they're not but seriously what's up with the camera work. It also looks longer than in real life. Like I said maybe it's just me but this car definitely looks better in real life, they are not photogenic at all. I understand though because some people are like that too, they just look strange in any picture they take yet in real life they look fine.
Brgds
His car has amazing taillights, you can tell them from a mile away 0o___o0
Any guy who finds an E55, or any AMG for that matter, ugly, probably drinks soy milk and has a CD of the greatest hits of The Village People in their car.
Maybe in another few years it'll be more accepted. But I do think the face lifted W211 will stand up to time a lot better as a "handsome" and "classic" looking design. When I see W212s on the road today, I have a hard time picking them out from other cars on the road. They look too "Japanese/Asian" designed to me and it's harder to distinguish them from all the rest of the cars out there. I always have to look twice. Any older Mercedes is clearly easier to spot.
And that weird dog haunch looking thing on the rear fenders just doesn't work at all, imho. I realize that it's supposed to be a nod to the old Pontons of the 1950s but nobody in the world understands that or even cares.
I remember what Jeremy Clarkson said when the W212 came out:
"There’s a curious and extremely ugly styling detail on the rear wings of the new Mercedes E-class. It’s a crease that sets off from the back end with much purpose and drive, but when it reaches the door, it sort of gives up and, like the Okavango river, meanders about before giving up on the idea of existing in the first place.
One thing is for sure. It serves no purpose. It will make the car no faster, no more stable at speed and no more economical. And it’s not a traditional Mercedes thing either — it’s not like the BMW Hofmeister kink in the rear window, which is present on all models.
Mercedes says, apparently, it added the crease as a nod to some model in the company’s dim and murky past. Probably the one Hitler drove. But this makes no sense really. When I buy a new iPod, I don’t want it to look even remotely like my grandfather’s gramophone player. So why should I want my new car to have a feature from the days of running boards?
And, anyway, no one is going to say: “Ah so. I see you’ve hinted at the 1942 Doogleburger model with that crease on the flank.” They’re just going to do what I did: spend hours wondering if Mercedes has the first idea about form and function."
I would still not consider any of them ugly! And certainly not as plain as that boring *** 5 series!!
SO... what car does this guy drive?
I have a Mars Red 2004 C32, by all accounts a pretty nice looking car. I am going today to take a look at a 2004 E500 Estate. Why you ask? Because I think the 211 body style is gorgeous! Screw that guy. There's a guy on my street with a white R34 GTR, even though they are cheesedick cars, I'd never tell him that... or maybe I should... LOL!

And Yuille36, your car looks amazing. Not much needs to be added to the E63:s since they are almost perfect already from factory. The only thing I will implement on my car is wheels change and rear diffuser (when somebody makes one).
