Tires Rubbing HARD!
Hey Guys,
Put on new SL wheels on my car but the rears are rubbing so hard like my gf giving me a hand job or something (trying to make a point). But anyways, the rear fenders I know aren't rolled on E500s so wondering if I have my fenders rolled like the E55s do, will I have a problem?
Fronts: 255/35/19 ET30
Rears: 285/30/19 ET31

lol I know this too...That is what I am asking... since E55 fenders are rolled, would this wheel fit since I am getting mine rolled today...I don't think offset is the issue here

Im running a 35ET on 275/35/18 that run wide like a 285 and they will rub in s2 on hard turns. So no way would I be able to run an et31 with my tires
the lower the et number the more it pushes the wheel out towards the fender.

how wide are the wheels? if they're 10.5 in the rear your gonna need to pull the fender a bit if you're lowered.

Iv been going back and forth trying to get custom 18s made for my car with forgstar since IM trying to run a skinny running 315/30/18 drag radial so I know what offsets we have and can play with.I need like a 38.5mm offset on a 10.5 in wheel and I would still need to roll my finders to get it to work,I kinda gave up on it lol.
you are at the limit with that offset and you might find a thinner tire that might clear the fenders.

I have PS2 on the tires and heard those are the skinniest tire...I had 285s before but they were 35mm...didn't think 4mm made a big difference! I raised my car for the time being but rubs only at sharp turns...so thinking of using star to do an auto calibration and see from there

your fender's aren't rolled right now correct? get them rolled and you should be fine. a 9.5 with a et31 offset is still pretty conservative, you shouldn't have any issues once the fenders are rolled. most likely due to the 285 tires in back.

yeah E500 don't have fender's rolled like E55s......So yeah I am thinking I will still rub a bit if I lower it too much...I might just go back to stock height and lower it "two-three clicks" all around.
After I drove around the block....you can smell the rubbing badly. I tried to put my hand to see how bad, it was too hot too touch, but didn't see all that bad...

you should still have plenty of room to lower the car w/o any issues after you roll the fenders
just make sure someone knowledge does the rolling, don't want to end up with cracked paint.

yeah found a guy who has been doing it for 10 years lol....
p.s. what is a good lowering point....mine is all ****ed with with fronts being too low compared to rears.....i want the car sitting on top of the tires look.

leave about a finger gap all round and that should give you the look you're going for. with a raked setup(front lower than rear) you run the risk of rubbing severely on the inside of the front tires. My car is tucking tire all around with the front slightly higher than the rear.
