Trunk tank and best pump flow combo!

I have done a lot of cooling flow test over the last few years and this is what I found to be the best set up on the CL/S class system.

First, a lot of people claim that you can buy to big of a pump and flow water to fast and hurt IAT`s. I never believed that and found it to be BS. Our stock size lines will only allow so much flow and that will not hurt IAT`s. You need to flow water fast and all the pumps we all talk about , will not flow TO FAST.

First, an auxillary H/E added to the stock H/E is a good mod. Then use Mez front pump with a Rule 2000 pump located inside your rear trunk tank. I have a 4.7 gallon tank and can not find any reason to run a larger tank than this. After a full mile run, I still have 50 degree water in tank but all 20lbs of ice will melt. In a 1/4 mile run, there is still enough ice for another run.

The front Mez pump loves the push pull system of the Mez/rule pump combo. The rule pushes water and the Mez pulls, creating a flow syneregy of sort. Even with all this, flowing 5.5 gallons per minute in our lines, is about the max you can attain with these large pumps.

My trunk tank is also desinged to fit inside my spare tire and out of sight.

Awesome info Brooke!

Thanks for all of your hard work on this!

Which model Rule 2000 pump are you using in the rear reservoir?

With no rear tank, and a Bosch (Ford Racing) pump, I run 12-18 degrees above ambient (split system). I run meth, so WOT stays in this range, sometimes even dropping to or below ambient. My questions would be: What does your IATS look like with this set up under low load and high load conditions? I am contemplating a number of options, but given what I have read, there is not a lot of room for improvement.

With no ice, I see 8-15 over ambient. With ice, I can easilly attain 40 below ambient on warm days.

You will need a front Mezaire pump , seperate your system from engine and connect power to keyed fuse.

I already have a CM30 though. WIll it still work with my pump? What type of hoses and fitting do I need? I can't find anything on parts needed for a trunk tank.

I would go with a Meziere WP136 personally, to each his own. Try it out and if it works great, let me know 3/4" hoses, either braided stainless or something like Gates duraflex. I believe if you get a tank through Shardul he can have the needed fittings welded on, or you can go with -12AN fittings. Hope that helps.

In addition to what everybody else has said, you will need 50' in hose. I am doing this right now for my wagon and just ordered 50' of braided lines from frozenboost, with various AN fittings, that I believe I will need to install the tank in my car.

As for the electrical hook up, I will take a look this weekend to see what I need and where I will be hooking it up to a keyed fuse in the trunk.

Thanks for that man!! Been worried about my twin Johnson 90s for years now. One locomotive up front pushing back and one monster in the truck pushing up. Works great but that science crap about overflow always scared me.

A sheet load of patience. Wasn't fun for me in the garage getting stuff around headers and then over the axles. Plenty of swearing to go around. Must be nice and easy on a lift....or easier.

Once in, it's worth it though.
