Anyone know what sized serpentine belt an ASP 178 pulley uses?

I swapped my EC 180mm pulley for an ASP 178mm oem type pulley to see ( hope ) if my wobble would go away. It didn't, it's just as bad...lol. I guess now I know that my crankshaft is 100% at fault and not EC's pulley.

Anyways, that's not the point. Since the pulley is already on I'm not taking it off but I just realized that my oem serpentine accessory belt is too large. I need to know if a 1 inch smaller belt will do.

Anyone?

I measured the EC accessory pulley and the ASP oem one and the EC is considerably larger. I'm guessing EC ( or rather ASP since they make the EC one ) made it larger due to the smaller waterpump pulley but the ASP uses the oem unit so I guess they must supply an new belt with the pulley ( at the time they were sold anyways ).

For now I'm just going to ride my engine until something breaks. Hopefully much later than sooner...lol. I've already been 4 months like this and many many wot runs.

Hey Bro,

just got off the phone with ASP Tech Line and he told me it should work with the following belts:

Gates part# K080515

Dayco part# 5080515

ASP Tech Line: 936-588-3117

FYI: The gates if I recall correctly is the belt I used.

Sucks you went through all that trouble and you still have a wobble.

That's the supercharger belt...I'm talking about the accessories belt. Thanks for the help though.

I'm going to try a 66" belt instead of the oem 67" belt to see if that solves my problem. I can slip the oem belt on without even messing with the tensioner.

As for the wobble, I'm hoping it's more of a mental thing than anything else....lol...it's worked fine with the wobble.

I bought a 66" belt and that did the job.

Funny, my car feels considerably slower with the 178 over the 180. I could be crazy though, I'm kinda negative sometimes and I'm just waiting for everything to fall apart...lol. It could also be the belt slipping from the grease from my hand and paint that was applied to the pulley. I'll keep beating on it to see if it gets better.

Good news though, the pulley definitely has less wobble than before. To the point of barely being noticeable. I turned the car on for a second at first and thought it had the same wobble but after I got home and put a light to it, it's actually not bad at all. The SC belt used to jump slightly and now it seems very steady. I'm happy.

EDIT: Wrong again...it definitely had the same wobble after messing around with it and looking at it in the daylight. Car pulls hard though so I think it was belt slip that was happening before. Guess I have to live with the wobble.
