Made it out to the drags!!!

What's up guys, I know this might not be the right section, but the W220 section is a little slow.

Well, I finally made it out to the drags last night. All in all, it was a good night. NOTHING BROKE!!!!! Way happy about that. The night started with a descent run with a 12.54@113.88mph. My next run was 12.52@113.08mph. Then my last run was the best of the night. Everything came together for me. Launch was good, reaction was pretty good. Well as everyone always says, pictures or it didn't happen. So here you go.

My info is on the left and total weight of the car with me in it and out was 4670lbs with an 1/8 tank of gas. And without me it was 4475.....I could stand to lose a little weght. My car has Kleemann headers, kleemann ECU tune and ASP 180mm pulley kit. Also I did the grill cut out as well....hoping for a little better air flow. I have yet to dyno, but I would imagine it is around the 500rwhp mark. Thanks

gj! never beeen before but motor sports. Since moving back from cali my r1 has been just sitting sooo needless to say i have filled the void by buying an 06 e55 amg lol. Anyways, I havent read anything on here but the amg is a performance engine so is drag racing or racing in it a few time a year going to damage it at all?

Give it up! Tell us about the Benz worship!! Maybe it's died down now, but when these first came out, people would just come over and stare at the car for hours after a low 12 sec/11sec run.

Jim it hasn't stopped, my last time at Sac a guy comes over and says "you're hurting a lot of feelings running 11's" to which I replied "oh really and just think it's all stock I have a friend with the same car but he runs 10's" and he replies "oh" and pedals off back to his friends group of cars mind you this guy was about 60ish or atleast appeared to be

Noob questions, but...

1) Thought I saw R&T guys running this quick with a stock car

2) Seems like the "NOTHING BROKE" is a big deal...is there anything that would break on a 1/4 mile run?

Fast as heck and great runs BTW just trying to get more info. I'm really thingking about buying one of these cars in the VERY near future, but want to know as much as I can prior to.

I think (could be wrong) they tested one and got the same numbers. I'll see if I can find the reference material.

Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG - Short Take Road Test

Trying to get a step up on the Italian job.

The E55 in last year's comparison test got to 60 in 4.3 seconds and posted an identical 12.5-second quarter at a marginally faster 116 mph. Your glutes won't feel the difference between the two AMGs.

You're mistaken. The car in question is an S55, which weighs roughly 400lbs more than the E55. Hence the mid 12s with a 180mm pulley and supporting mods.

Yes, it is. I am speaking about the original poster's S55 AMG. He doesn't drive an E55, just posted in the W211 AMG forum because we're more into modifying.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. I'm hoping to dno her in about a month or so. I know dyno numbers don't really matter, but it's always fun to see what you have under the hood. Like everyone says, it's how it feels on the street and drag that matters.

What other mods can I do besides a $2,500 TB, that will get my a little quicker? I got a friend with a 03 Terminator with 590rwhp that I want to scare the crap out of with my yacht.

2500 USD for Throttle Body . look for Bruce from TTM, he will show you how to spend these 2500 USD and you will probably get 50 - 60 whp.

Oh man, you will also need to work on cooling a lot since I haven't you mentioned anything about your cooling mods ! Cooling , Cooling, and then Cooling even before that Throttle body.

How do you think he will make another 50-60whp with $2500 without a TB?

Different roots :

- Water/Meth.
- Change the inter cooler to SLR design could help in recovering some HPs + TTM fuel rail & Injectors.

When I was wondering of the 2500 USD coz I know that he can get the 82mm TB for less than 2000 USD

Dude...$2500 would cover this? LOL.

I think WMI is my next investment. I just don't see the TB really helping as much as it's price suggests.

I want to upgrade the ic pump to cm30. Then look at getting into the upgrades. I know cooling is a big part of recovering hp....but what other cooling mods are there beside changing the HC?

In the above I was just stating what it can be done next that could get you 50 - 60 whp.

Well, 2500 + 1000 will only bring the SLR intercooler kit (everything).

82mm TB will bring you 35 whp for sure ... and it is less than 2000USD.

These cars get 35WHP from a TB swap? What size is the stocker? That must be some kind of restriction...

I'll check, but has anyone done some porting and polishing of the stocker and checked the results? With several of my previous cars that often produced very good results...
