OEM Sirius Install
Keep in mind my car was prewired and all the connectors were already there when we removed the trunk interior.
Putting in the unit was the easy part. The somewhat difficult part was reconnecting the audio cables in the far depths of the trunk (much easier if you have fold down rear seats) Probably the most agonizing part was driving around Hialeah visiting various Stereo Shops trying to find a Sirius antenna to connect to the splitter. A Best Buy tech told me to buy a Pioneer Sirius Antenna and modified the input for me. Plugged right in. This enabled me to place it on the rear shelf and feed through a small opening in the backseat.
No cutting of the rear shelf or the trunk not required.
Called up sirius, told em i just bought a unit and got three months free service. Thank god i dont have to listen to the junk on the radio in Miami. We dont even a have a rock station anymore but we have plenty of reggaeton stations to listen to.

I hate Sirus (The service) due to their CRAP customer service.
I had a radio (with lifetime service) when the service first became available. The radio was stolen out of my M3. When I tried to transfer service, they said NO. I had to buy new service, even though I had a lifetime agreement. I bit my tongue, and ordered month to month on my new unit. About a year later, that radio broke. I called to cancel my service, and they kept saying: You are canceled- Then charged me. This went on for a few months, and finally I just canceled the card they were charging against.
I have Sirius in my truck (When I bought the truck, it was activated, and I ain't askin' any questions).. but I will never pay for the service again. Too much headache

I did not recieve the preview channel as i wasn't able to tune into it.

About the problem I had. I was trying to tune to channel 147 and was getting a not available message. I had the same result on the 2005, 2006 and 2007 cars we own. It worked fine on the 2009. What I learned was that Sirius expanded their channel lineup in the 2006 timeframe and older radio's will not tune them. It appears there are maybe 15 or more of these newer channels.
I went to the Mercedes dealer to see if there were any updates, or even a replacement receiver to fix this. After some research they said no. This is just something to be aware of if installing a factory rather than aftermarket Sirius receiver. Of course there may be nothing of interest on any of these channels. I was tring to listen to the Christmas music on channel 147.

Yacht Master.
You might have compatibility issues bc you have a 05 which may or may not have been prewired for Sirius.
I cant see the Yacht Master DIY either
I must have used the Ray Charles DIY

Look for this connector in your trunk to see if you have the connector
You will have to tear about your right trunk liner. (Hint.......Ask Justin)

If not, your SOL and have to pay a premium to get Sirius installed.
Prob better getting a tuner and connecting it to your AUX connection in your glovebox.
Being you came from a Mazda 6, you should be happy with the tuner/aux combo
At least it's better than a FM Modulator
