What Im asking if this can be raised enough to fit the carbon box under it and still not hit the hood.

So, the center part sits on TOP of the existing supercharger?
I don't know enough about the SLS to understand..... The rectangular hole at the front is for incoming air, and the rear round hole is the mount for the throttle body?
Any chance that the rear TB mount will be oversized to support 80mm, 82mm or one of those crazy 90mm ones people were talking about a few days ago (BBK)? It would be awesome to have a massive machined hole with different adapter flanges to fit whatever TB was desired. From what I've read, the E55 y-adapter was a pretty significant bottleneck to flow.

Brad, great product! But that was to be expected from a company like Evosport
Looks like the intercoolers and surge tanks are one unit now. Besides the performance gain, this will look really good under the hood. Very exciting news for 55K owners.

As much as I like this but I do see couple problems with this set up.
One being the air intake. It'll probably be confine to the engine bay and sucking hot air.
Two, how are you going to make sure both banks of the engine to have same AIT?
three, for the cost you can probably do the twin turbo kit.
Just my $0.02.

As for the cost...he hasn't said how much they will cost yet.

Correct me if I am wrong.
As far as price I'm guessing $10K US to $15K US.
And cold air can be directed up from the engine mount coolers not the best source but a start.

I'm not here to knock the idea down. Just show some concerns and hopefully those concerns will get address before they become real problems.

Let's hope it's that simple. Because we all know that water, or any fluid, will take the least resistance route. So with that in mind, we could have one nicely functioning IC and the other baking hot.

No argument there.
I will wait to see how this fits into the larger picture... if this product replaces all of the other proven methods (meth injection, larger HE's, larger IC pumps, split cooling systems, Killer Chiller, etc) with a single superior cooling solution then there are some economies to be had by moving directly into a product like this instead of spending incrementally for those other items.
Coolness factor aside, $10,000 is a pretty big nut.... that kind of money will take a "stock" E55 pretty deep into the list of "traditional" E55 mods (including cooling upgrades)..... as to which direction is "better", I guess we'll have to wait for more details and test results from the OP.
Either way, it's cool stuff....and I certainly appreciate that there are vendors who are still willing to put THIS much effort into supporting the E55 platform.

Remember, top mounted coolers are not only more efficient at cooling the boosted air compared to other methods (larger HE's, larger IC pumps, split cooling systems, meth injection, Killer Chiller, etc), but they also eliminate the worse bottleneck in the 55K's intake system, the stock intercooler. Top mounted coolers with proven air-flow design will increase intake air-flow after the supercharger far superior to our stock unit, which will produce noticeable top-end power. It's like having 2 major mods in one!

None fast enough!
Thanks again guys for all the very kind words.
Just to clarify a couple of things:
- The IAT will be addressed.
- There will be no bottlenecks in the flow of water (we addressed that at step one of R&D)
- The air filter will be part of the kit and will be shown as we finalize
- The price is not set, but we are shooting for a range that will make it reasonable.
Again, thanks for all the great feedback!
Thanks
Brad

Last time I heard the SLR coolers were $3500 each so $7k the down side is that SLR coolers don't fit under the hood of an E class.

So who will be the first one to try either a cowl-induction or shaker-style hood on the E55?
Plenty of clearance and lots of fresh, cool air available either way.
....I can't believe there still another 3 - 4 weeks of suspense before we get the final details. Patently unfair.

I was quoted $16-18K from a few dealers for both new SLR coolers and parts.com was the cheapest at $14.5K.

.................on a E55 Wagon.......mmmmmmmmm, something to seriously think about......but lets see how it all comes out and on pricing. If pricing is right for this product, then I am there.....and just when I thought there were no more cost-effective mod ideas for this car.

Even back in the day, when the first E55 owners (well to do bunch) tried this only 2 people went with the SLR coolers cause it just cost too much. Now we have 2nd & 3rd owners and I don't think many are up for a mod that could cost as much as the SLR coolers did "back in the day". And I think there were at least 6 attempts to knock off the SLR coolers, most ended up as one offs. Now if Brad can get his cooler to market at a price point at or below dealer cost on the SLR cooler, it will be a winner (and he knows it).
