evosport - New Development on Cooling Upgrades (Top Mounted Intercoolers)
Hey all, this post is in reply to the numerous comments that evosport has moved on from the 55k platform. Well, that could not be further from the truth. We have just been focused on some serious upgrades as we have already covered all the easy ones.
So, here we go....
Announcing our next cooling upgrade - The evosport evo2 Cooling Package. This is more commonly refered to as Top Mounted Intercoolers or SLR-Style Coolers
We have flow tested the lower splitter for any turbulence or resonance issues, and I will be posting that info shortly.
This package will be a direct upgrade for those with our evo1 Cooling Package or as a stand-alone complete upgrade.
We will have the first article on a member's SL55 (Hi Havoc) this fall.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Thanks
Brad

I would like to know the price range because I already have a quotation on similar set up using AMG OEM parts here in the UAE in one of the good reputation tuner in Europe and the middle east.
If I ever had the chance to have another AMG 55, Top mount intercooler would be one of the first mods to do and a must as TTM fuel rail set up

Looks very impressive Brad!
The new evosport evo2 Cooling Package looks very professional. This is by far the single most needed mod for the 55K.
Awesome design bro!

1. Pricing?
2. Expecetd Availibility?
3. You mention flow tested for resonance. I did some testing with a hollow plenum under the SC and the whine was not something I would entertain with a street car. Some like the SC Whine, I don't. Does this produce any significant increase in intake whine?

No I think that is the images reflection like an underside reflection or something.
I'm sure that all this hardware is located under the S/C so the stock intake would be relocated elsewhere on top of this.

Thanks for all the nice words. We are incredibly excited about this project!
I dont have all the answers yet, but I will try.
Pricing is yet to be determined. We have a range, but final determination will be after the final machining on the first unit. This is a non compromise build, so it will not be cheap. However, it will be much less than OE SLR conversions and will fit the bay better. More info on this as we have it.
As to availability, we will have the first unit built within 3-4 weeks.
As for resonance we will publish that info as we convert it to a web friendly format. As for whine, I really dont know yet, but whine is typically a variable of resonance and I dont think we will have a noticeable increase.
As for air filter, we will have a filter with the kit. That is one of the last details that will be determined on the car and may be slightly different for SL, E, CLS, etc.
Thanks

Do you guys think there is enough room to put spacers under them to lift it enough to clear a carbon airbox?
I would be 100% down if this could fit on top of the rentech airbox.
