Quote: Just get another flash for the injectors or an actual dyno tune? I am sure you are going to **** on the difference you feel with that meth running and keeping the intake temps way lower since I assume it is still nice and warm where you are. Fricken 91* here today!!
Just a flash. After a few days of testing if I feel I can advance timing then Jerry told me has no problems with doing so.

Time to hit the dyno...unfortunately my scanner died on me for some reason.

The tooling for this product is going to be expensive, I should think that they will use an investment cast process and its a very difficult part to manufacture by the looks of it, so from Evosports perspective its all going to come down to how many people will buy these and how they can amertise the cost of the tooling and engineering over X amount of kits, I dont see anyway that they can build sell these kits for $2500, the market for these cars is just not strong enough. Very nice product though.

I would doubt they are investing in any tooling to produce these themselves. There is so much spare manufacturing capacity available across the country right now that I am sure they would have people begging for for the business. If they do all the design, and find the right contract to outsource the production, It can be done.

"Just got paid today.....got me a pocket fullllll of change." - ZZ Top

Well it's Friday (payday) again. Any chance of an EvoSport update on this thread?? I'd love to see some actual product photos and hear how the prototype testing is going....isn't someone here actually running an early pre-production set???

Bueller??

To all: Please realize that (1) these projects take time to do them correctly, (2) we are not singularly focused (in that, we are doing many projects at once) and (3) the negative comments like the few above do nothing but disincentivize tuners and manufactures from sharing in the design and build process.

To those interested: Sorry for the little lapse. I have been out of the office a lot lately, so I have not had the chance to update the thread much. Manufacturing has begun, and got off to a rocky start with a few key bits on the machine breaking! =( We are back at full speed and I will share a quick video and image. We are not sharing anything more detailed until the parts are complete.

Video of the machining process

Here is an image of the logo plate:

Thanks for all the support!

We all thank you for the update and keep the performance process going for the 55 engine . I'm so glad that Evosport hasn't given up on this engine platform it looks like it and the NEW M157 based on our block my be MB best engine platforms ever. Especial now with this class action against the 63 M156 engine wonder where that's going? and the "REAL TRUTH" about this engine . maybe I did buy the right year CLS AMG Badm

We are getting close to having them actually on the car and running!

Obviously these are just sitting on the stock airbox for now (on a microfiber), but this shows the size and location nicely.

Thanks

Looks good. Have you guys decided on going with a full machined set of components, or is this just for first articles for casting molds? Still interested in seeing your plan for the air filters.

Brilliant..!

Any scoop on the IAT sensor / airfilter arrangement ?

FWIW I appreciate Evosport is proud of this development but the logo is a bit large / overwhelming!

Keep going Brad!

Ok, it has been 10 days since last update so figured I would go ahead and bump this since I know Evosport is going to updated it on Monday. Of course with a completed product installed on a big pulley E55 with some before/after info on possible boost changes and intake air temp changes.

Ok, maybe not I am just making that up, but just ready to see these things completed and rocking under the hood hopefully before it gets to much colder so there is some good info in kinda warm weather.

This will not be an inexpensive part.

I think we will see $6K - $8K

What if there was to be a group buy, theoretically 15-20 people, I wonder if evosport is willing to drop it a bit. It's so necessary though. I wonder how much weight it adds.

A good guess would be about 30 lbs. But in a 4000+lb car, who cares

The HP advantage would FAR out way the the weight dis-advantage, IMHO.
