The HP advantage would FAR out way the the weight dis-advantage, IMHO.
Id like to the the before and after IAT numbers.. See how much it really works.

Not just IAT, but pressure drop as well ( which I'm sure is the biggest issue with the oem intercooler from being so small ).

The stock intercooler (under SC) is very inefficient (cooling) and highly restrictive to airflow.

The benefits of this product will be:

Better initial cooling and recovery (This will continue to be enhanced with secondary cooling enhancements such as trunk tanks, Killer Chiller, bigger pumps etc)

Higher airflow capacity. This is where the HP will be. Although boost may drop, the CFM capabilities will increase. This will allow for bigger pulleys and TB’s and more HP and TRQ from less boost.

In all, it is a MUCH needed enhancement when you get to the high end of the modification scale. I would not put this on a stock engine, but you add to a highly modified engine, and you can expect the ability to make some tremendous gains

I agree with you but I'm just trying to see how much

God I hope the new Weistec supercharger sounds like the OEM unit rather than those Whipple units. Don't get me wrong on the SVT Cobra I love that high pitch whine from idle but on a Mercedes I prefer the SLR/55k whine like the one in the video below. For me at least it would be a deal breaker if it sounded like an MTM RS4 but I guess some like the Cobra-like whiners.

AMG 55 5.5L M113K

Coming soon! Weistec is proud to announce that we will be releasing the first supercharger upgrade for the AMG 55's.

Should be interesting. I know the kit for the 63 is $14,000 (Stage 1).. so although this will likely be an impressive upgrade, it will be "Ballers Only"

^ true which makes evosport's TMC a cheaper alternative. Hopefully they're at least half of that price.

Aren't you the "test mule" for this product now? Are you running a set of prototypes yet? What's the latest?

It's been almost 3 months now since this "teaser thread" was posted..... Brad initially got everyone worked up into a frenzy about the product and I think now most people are just getting tired of the lack of updates or information.

Please throw us a bone, or at least some scraps to keep us going!

Yeah, I am trying to figure out what the hold up could be. I thought the stuff was going to be a big cast unit from looking at the computer drawings and could understand it taking longer to get a casting. Then when the pics were posted of just cores with the end tank and other parts tac welded on I don't see the hold up since it was just regular welding work being done.

Yeah I'm sure the fact that they didn't get it done for SEMA isn't going to help speed it up either...I was hoping we would see it there.

Sorry, but you guys know just as much as me. I recently heard from Brad on other builds of mine, but no updates on the TMC. I am the driving force but I doubt I'll be the "test mule" since my 55K is disassembled and not ready. Most likely they are testing them on another car and working out the tweaks. Brad did mention that he won't repost until they are completed.
