My ported heads are going on (Texas mile time)
This head porter is the BEST IMO. Former engineer, passion for flow testing everything and maximizing power!. One of the best customer porters at maintaining high velocity from low lift to high lift.
Nice things about ported heads, no idle issues, no drivability issues either like with cams. You just a lot flow more air into the chamber and the engine becomes more effecient. These heads are flow designed, custom hand ported, milled, complete race valve job (special for AMG) and of course cleaned and prepped like new. He found that some of our factory valves can be cast out of round; so each valve is tested, replaced and re-ground to the highest flow specs.
As I have mentioned before; I spent my money and time on ported heads and not on the CAMS I have seen used by our members. Ported Heads are where the power is at. IMO
I had him make 2 Extra sets, if anyone wants to POWER UP!

I am doing a M113k swap into a CLK55 and last night I mentioned the heads to the owner and he is all for it. Have to call Shardul.
Just trying to decide between a 195mm or 205mm!
Good luck with the install!
Bruce, that is going to be a crazy build in a lightweight AMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would go 195mm for your customer. Cams would be a great addition too, with heads and mogambo pulley.
Yes, that is the plan but it is a 1.5 hour drive each way to the dyno I have been using. I had a couple part throttle only flashes since my last dyno, but plan to make sure those flashes did not change WOT power.
Badm, Porter is in SE Texas and he and I worked together on almost a year of R&D on these heads. So many detailed specs sheets on our engines went into the plan of porting, it was mind boggling. Basic things like cam specs, compression, boost, power, torque, stock VS modded power and ET`s. Dyno sheets to study power curves and max TQ and HP averages. Bore/stroke and the list goes on and on.
He has contracts with pro-touring race circuits and is loaded with their work. I commited to buy X amount of heads to be able to get a porter of this caliber to do the proper R&D needed to do the job right. I have known him and he has made heads for me in the past! I personally trust no other person to do custom work like this.
If you need one of the few sets I had made for us, PM me and I will get them shipped out to you.

I am listed as ther alternate driver , as we are still having competitive verbal exchanges over me running .10 faster in the mile than her.
Turtles crawl faster than that. Of the four sets of heads, two sets are sold , another person is checking on getting his car to an installer and so that leaves one set, maybe 2. Since all our performance stuff is limited, I usually get a few extras made at the same time I have something made for my car.
I have 4 other projects going on right now for mods for the car and they are all being custom desinged and made. I am just finishing up a design project for NASA, so have more time for personal car mods now! Just in time for the cold weather.
Now to find a set of CF5`s!!!

Super high flowing heads on a boosted engine allows for lot of power gains/options to be had and boost effeciency becomes your big cam VS what the naturally aspirated engines get from heads and cams.
Have a set of ported race heads on the shelf and ready to go right now. PM me if you need a set.

I did a search and looked for an hour in your threads. I didn't find anything on what you said above, but you have made many Threads and Posts, and The thread titles might not have given an indication of your head gains.
Could you possibly direct me to the post the specifies your gains so that I may read up on it? I've enjoyed all your threads I've read so far.
Very interesting statement on the aftermarket cams and 1/4 mile times. I don't doubt that. Have you decided on a serious cam upgrade?
