Shredded a Tire today should I switch brands
Ok I have not had great success with the vredestien tires. I have already replaced 3 of the 4 with in the last 9 months. I have driven maybe 6k in that time span. Now I have not had any problems with the newer ones yet. The one that died today was the last of the first set that maybe had 12k on it. Should I just replace that one or look at changing tires all together?

TBH, I've never even heard of vredestien tires....who makes those? I would recommend Hankook Ventus V12's....I just switched out my tires from Michellin P/S to Hankooks and I could not be happier.
What part of SoCal are you from?

They are from the Neitherlands. I got them from ACG. I live in the La Quinta which is in the Desert east of LA by about 90 miles.

ooh, I see. I was gonna recommend you a place but you're kinda far
but yea, if you got $$$ I would recommend Michellin PS2 or SS. But if you wanna save some $$$ aim for Hankook V12's. They also come with road hazard warranty if you ever hit a nail, etc

I dont mind if I have to travel cuz there is not much out here. The places that deal with aftermarket wheels and such I would not let near my car. They tend to deal more with the cheap 26's on a 97 tahoe.

Michelin PSS or Nitto Invo's homie. I can't say enough good things about them.
I had to decline on the Vreds too when ACG was doing the ADV's for me... I just hadn't heard anything good.

If you want a good bang for your buck tire, go with Hankook. Or If you dont mind spending the extra cash I would highly recommend Michelin Super Sports.

I personally think that Continental is offering the best bang for your buck tire out there right now. If you look at there pricing, they are very competitive and they are a good tire.

I've been running a set of Hankooks for about 18 months and am pretty pleased with them. They're quiet and wearing well and appear to have good traction.

The Hankook tires are garbage. The only + to them is that they are cheap, relatively. They will never compare favorably to a solid dry weather tire, except maybe in price.

FWIW - I am pleased with my Hankooks. I have the V12 Evos in 275/35/20.
The Continentals that I had before got very greasy - very fast when pushing it hard. The Hankooks were a better price, and they are able to withstand more punishment than the Continentals. They dont get quite as greasy with the same amount of spirited driving. I do have to say the Contis made sliding a bit more predictable though.
With that said, does anyone want to donate to my tire fund? lol
