Quote: The car looks dope, but I can't really understand the thought around the stretched tire either ? Please explain, is it because the wheels offset and the car being lowered, or did you want the flush look. I can tell you, that you would definitely tear up your CF front lip up here in Northern Virginia, with it being so low. But cool looking car, I'm starting to like the SL AMGs more and more after seeing your ride.

From what he's said in the past the car is "Stanced", which is a movement among car enthusiasts. Huge with the VW crowd, they basically put the widest possible wheels with tires that will "tuck" into the fenders on an uber lowered car. Definitely not my bag of chips but it's certainly unique.

The maximum wheel width a 245/35/19 tire is designed and intended by tire manufacturers to fit is 9.5" wide. Not only does it look odd, it's a good way to have a tire failure at speed. I'll pass on this "style."

but SL's can easily fit a 285 tire in the back, so why go with a 245? to get an extra 2mm of lowering? no thnx

My setup is not for everyone. This is why another set of wheels with good tires are always usefull sitting at home to go to the track with. I don't do street racing or anything like that, when I cruise the car I get on it sometime but with a 245 you can forget about traction all together. The car is build not to perform amazingly, it's build so that I like the way it looks and sits on wheels. I don't speed on the e ways and don't like to race around the city, not my cup of tea. Whenever I feel I want to see what the car has I take it to the track with a nice rim/tire setup meant for that and go.

You can fiit even 295s but that is if with the offset I have going you want to damage rear quarters in no time.
