**Question RE: AMG shifter assembly**

Hey guys need some help from the tech gurus here - Can you replace an SL55 shifter assembly with a used assembly from another SL55?

My mechanic said they have different unique programming for each unit and you cant put one unit in another car.

Thanks for your help.

He's right, they are "married" to the car they are installed in. Being that SL's do not have a steering lock-- the shifter is part of drive authorization system.
