need to replace air filters...OEM or K&Ns?
It's time to replace my air filters.
I am wondering who is running K&Ns and whether these are worth the extra money vs just getting the OEM Mann filters.
I understand our cars don't have MAF sensors so oiling/damage o the MAFs caused by particles is eliminated, but are the K&Ns worthwhile? Power? MPG? etc.
Thanks in advance..

I think that you'll get mixed reviews on this subject, as some have experienced CEL with K&Ns as the oil can coat the MAF. I use OEM myself. But I have used K&Ns in my Mustand Cobra, I would put it in the oven after spraying it down with the oil, for 20 minutes at 200 degrees. Dries that puppy up just right.

K & N is the way to gp . You must be careful how much oil you put on them not over oiling and they must sit for a while before driving. I haven't had any problems with them , been using them for years on other cars, Mustangs etc "Badm "

Thousands and thousands on k&n filters. NEVER a CL from mass airflow sensor. But then again, I follow the mfg's instructions on oiling. Regardless, there SEEMS to be a SLIGHT, SLIGHT improvement on top, but nothing to write home about for sure. If anything, they might sound a bit better at WOT. I don't think they hurt, but I'm not convinced they are "wow" or anything.

OEM.
K&Ns offer no measurable performance advantage and have shown not to filter as well, as noted by increased silica in UOAs.
Why people still use these things I'm not sure.
