SRS Light, Keyless Go issue, and Black Series Steering Wheels....

I put a more elaborate post over in the R230 forum with no luck but we all know that the bulk of the technical expertise is over here so I will give it a shot.....

I popped a CLK63 BS steering wheel in my SL55 last night that I got from a fellow forum member (thanks buddy!).

It required a paddle conversion as the R230 did not get the bus update until '07 (thanks okbarnett.....https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...les-101-a.html).

Turned out great but in the process of the install, I managed to trip the SRS light. Long story short, on a Keyless Go car put the key inside your house and away from the car even if the main battery is disconnected.

Anyone got a trick to get rid of the SRS light without paying the stealer? I was wondering of disconnecting both batteries overnight or a certain number of drive cycles would knock it out. And yes, i have searched extensively to no avail.

The Keyless GO system is now not recognizing the keys which I assume has something to do with disconnecting the battery and requires some sort of reset to initialize the keys. I haven't had time to search on this yet as I have been preoccupied with solving the SRS light so any pointers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys!

BTW, I love the SL55 compared to my M6...it doesn't handle as well but it is more fun to drive, WAY quicker, prettier, and easy to live with on a daily basis. Not to mention that I can drive more then 5 miles on a tank of gas. Compared to my E55, I do not think the SL55 handles as well nor do I think it is quite as quick (my facelifted '03 was very strong) but I can deal with both tradeoffs to be able to drop the top and for the sexy lines on the new beast.

anytime airbag sqiubs are unplugged without disconnecting the battery it will trigger the SRS light
These are you options
1. Find someone with STAR locally
2. Take it to a body shop they usually have a generic air bag light reset tool
3. Take it to the dealer

Find someone local with STAR. Most Indies will have one. It'll take a few minutes to clear. Yesterday my eyes were opened to the miracle of STAR when we lowered my E.

Thanks shardul...and yes he does know his sh*t!

I hadn't thought of the body shop option so going to have it reset next week when I head over there for body mods.

For SDS, does anyone know of a good indie in Denver that has a STAR system? I could use a slight lowering tweak.
