hitting the dyno tom

When you do the ECU reset, would that not tamper with the kleeman tune? I am wondering if I need a reset because I went to do my emissions and the device said my OBDII could not be read and my onboard computer was not ready. I wonder if a reset would fix that?
How do you reset the ECU?

You just reset it with a scan tool.
I have one thing to check tom.I installed colder plugs about a month before my last dyno so its been 4-5 months with the colder plugs.I will check to see what they look like and might go back to stock plugs.
If the plug is to cold it wont burn off all the gas and build up on the plug over time.that is the only thing I can think of that might cause the car to knock.

You gotta have some wide open long stretches around there somewhere. I do "dyno runs" on the street to get the ECU to adapt. Take her down to 30mph in manual....in 4th and stomp it. Your car has all the limiters removed but unless she is a top fuel car, she ain't lighting up the tires in 4th in manual at 30mph. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Let it roll right up to fast as you can in 4th and she'll adapt nicely with a good long time with TB wide open. Few runs would be optimal.
Just an idea brotha.

Wow, late dyno. Looks like it will be around 80* for you from a quick look of Puerto Rico weather at 8pm.
Hope those guys have some datalogging for you to watch the intake temps or whatever else.
I don't know how you have your meth injection setup but it would be cool if you did a dyno with it off (pull the fuse or unplug wire or shut off switch or whatever) and then do the other 2 with it on.

No dyno's in 4th for me...I tried that before and not only were the numbers pretty much identical, the run took FOREVER so I decided to stick to 3rd gear.
For those who insist that 4th gear will read differently, it's only true if the ECU makes changes during that 4th gear run vs. a 3rd gear run. The gear ratio it's self has NOTHING to do with it because the dyno doesn't care about gear ratios...I've dyno'd in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th on various cars ( to include the E55, I've done 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the E ) and have never seen enough difference in power to justify such a long pull with little to no airflow in front of the car.
I even posted dyno runs comparing the difference in another topic a while back and the topic just died for some reason.

I can just inplug the system so I'm going to start with it off and them turn it on.

Cmon bro man up and dyno it in 4th gear.I want to see how it pulls to redline because I have an ace up my sleeve ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I can make another 10whp in 3rd gear.iv done it on other runs.

I thought you dynoed in the past in 3rd for 2 runs and then did the 3rd run in 4th and made the highest power? I swear I remember reading that, I don't know who else it could have been that did it, but it was said even after running the car for a 3rd run where it would be more heat soaked it made more power in 4th since 4th creates higher boost.

4th will make more torque.my car made more power from the tune adapting.I have my dynamite sheets from last year where the car made more hp in 3rd gear and less torque.but in 4th gear on that dyno my car made like 423whp vs 460whp and the 460 was after in 3rd gear making more power.

You never even talked about it unless I missed it but how has the car felt since installing the meth injection? Did you notice a difference of no loss in power through a pull where it keeps pulling hard well over 100? What size nozzle did you end up using? Your intake temps should stay very close to the same and rise very little if you have a decent sized nozzle in there.

I haven't gone WOT very many times, I noticed that if I leave the TC on the car bucks sometimes during shift and what not...but with it off it felt GREAT!
We'll see I guess.

Quick question, based on your Power, could your car beat a stock S65? I would think at the wheels yours is identical to the S65 and we weigh 1,000 lbs less.
The S65 is my dream car, but I do believe my/your car basically has the same power/speed, so we basically have S65 power in an E body.
Would you concur?
