What would you do to to engine check after service?
Hello
Just to make the story short, I had a service B plus other stuff done in our local MB dealer and as soon as I picked up the car I noticed an engine check light up in my dashboard. This was off when I dropped off the car. I called my service advisor and showed him the light, so he brought it back to the garage. After 30 minutes he brought back the car with engine check light off.
Now its back on and my car is back to the dealer.
The question is what would you do if he says something needs to be fixed to get the engine check lights off even though it was not on when you drop it off?
Please advise.
I have a good relationship with this dealer but after spending $2500 and this came up with another problem, I don't know what really happen to the car.

Exactly what other services were performed on the car, that would initiate a CEL?
A Service B, is simply a oil service and filter, inspections, possible air filters replacement.
If air filters were replaced, maybe a MAF sensor? I don't know, I need more information, about what other work did you have done to the car, that would cause a CEL.

Other services done to the car before engine check:
-air filter element left & right
-transmission fluid & filter
-test program for key
-engine mounts left & right
-ball joint left & right
-replace switch for passenger door mirror
-new keyless remote key
No engine check code yet since my car is still in the dealer.
thanks for the help.
