If I can get a used TB and your airbox that's got to make more power then some LT's right?

I don't see any TB + airbox combo making as much power as long tubes alone ... those LTs make some SERIOUS power.

ditching the shorties and picking up LTH still seems like a much better HP pickup per $ spent idea unless he is doesnt want to give up the shorties.

he could prob even sell the shorties and reduce his all-in LTH cost

If it were me I'd to the 180mm and ECU tune. This should get you +60-70 RWHP easily and collectively they're much cheaper than full headers which will give you +60HP.

To me this sort of discussion is always a dollar per HP thing. Pulley plus tune = $1,500 for 60-70HP. Full headers with install, $3,500 for 70HP. So $2K more for the same HP.

Here's the sequence approach I took:

1. K&N's
2. Johnson Pump
3. ECU Tune Stage 1
3. 180mm pulley
4. ECU tune stage 2
5. LTH with full cat-back replacement
6. ECU tune stage 3

This maximized my dollar and HP gains. All I have to do now is air scoops and python tubes.

If you bothered to read the first post you wouldve known the op already has a pulley + tune. My $$ would go to LTH as others mentioned

Got it sorry, read it quickly and thought those were the mods he was considering, not what he had already.

Do headers then!

I've read that the TB will increase hp and torque throughout the rpm range. I've never tested just the TB upgrade alone, but my dyno plots show increases across the rpm range when I went from stock to stage 3, and the lines were almost parallel with my stock dyno. Regarding the sprint booster, I don't have one but I think it may be too harsh for our LA traffic unless you have a very well-trained foot.

I had a chance to do some more homework and spoke to a couple forum Gods and I think the TB mod is way too technical for me! lol
I'm just a humble kid and it sounds like unless you get the correct TB, and install correctly, you can run into problems?

The pulley concept I understand. Larger pulley more boost. The headers I understand as well. Combined, let the EC geniuses tune it and you go fast. I don't think I can source a proper TB and install without running into some reported issues with the mod...

Does anyone with a solid reputation here have a complete working legitimate TB + parts for sale?

Also, I noticed some of you guys are referring to TB's as OEM parts. Does the 82mm TB come on other MBZ cars? Are the "OEM" parts better then aftermarket parts, and what car in the MBZ line up would have the TB that I want?

Thanks guys for all the advice!!

Pretty sure you would want to go with the TB off the 550 cars.

Long tube headers and a 82MM TB.

That's what I would do...

yup, if they are improperly installed or have a vacuum leak. (or don't do the tb reset that is included with our instructions and on the forum)

Eurocharged LTH are nice quality and well worth the $$ but be aware that you should cater extra $$ for mid section exhaust. I was planning on doing it in stages ... headers then exhaust later .. but that isn't really an option with these headers.

I need to get the TB reset instructions ... I didn't get any from you guys. I'll search the forums too. Also read about some bucking issue some folks are experiencing ... any comments on this?

bucking, is either a vacuum leak or the tb needs to be reset.
