Lolol you cut it out with the 20s too! But seriously Tony, I cant tell if the difference is that great as I dont race this car on the track, but I simply cannot complain with this brake setup at all. The dust alone and no squeaking is AWESOME. I had brembos before with some "nice" pads and the squeak/dust suuucked! If your considering these, get em. I wouldnt hesitate to do it again.

Sweet! I've been wondering about this. I daily drive mine and the wheels are a pain to clean! I usually wipe them down on Wednesday and again when I wash the car on the weekend (a little OCD I know).
I'm all over this even though my pads have a ton of life left! Which Akebonos are you all using??

tbal,
I don't think they have as strong of a bite as OEM but certainly sufficient. The minimal loss is worth it. Instead of cleaning my wheels a couple of times a week I could easily go several weeks. Of course I don't though--ha

Ha. Let me clarify, they aren't going to make you feel like you are one of the Flintstones or anything.
They don't seem to be as strong as OEM to me but still sufficient and far superior to most cars I have driven. Of course if you were pushing the car to it's limits on a track you wouldn't be worried about brake dust. It could be that they are just as good as OEM and only have a different feel. I'm certainly no expert and haven't done any tests to determine the difference in stopping distance, time, etc. Only my thoughts and experience.
They are certainly worth it regardless.

As others have said - still love em!!!!! As far as Initial bite. . .personal opinion is that you do lose "a little" but honestly, soooooooo worth it (personally I don't like more bite so I like the subtle change - smoother transition rather than "woooh, modulate, stop". The OEM brake dust is just wrong!!!!!!!!!!
Wheel weights - definitely not lazy. We actually experimented with putting them behind the spokes (horizontally - not vertically)........physics -Fc = mv2/r, where Fc = centrifugal force, m = mass, v = speed, and r = radius. . . Lets just say. . .the wheel weights came off when they were hidden.....does it suck that you can see them - yes. Does it suck even more having vibration/wheel weights flying off. . .yep. Could it be worse? Yep. . .especially considering that these wheels have taken the least amount of weight BY FAR of all the wheels that have been put on the car (including OEM stockers)

You are so right about the dust... They get dusty within a few miles drive and it's def pathetic... but can't wait to have these new ones put in

I love mine ... no complaints here. I put these on my M3 too ... use to have to really scrub that crap off every week, now can't see any dust. Seems all German cars put the dusty pads on for some reason. The bite is different but you adjust driving style to it anyway. Drive properly and you won't care about the brake pads so much anyway.

Seriously, they do sell brake pads with variance on initial bite.
I've used tons of different brake pads (from all manner of stock and OE replacement, to hawk, porterfield, Stoptech BBK, all the different EBC's, AXXIS, etc) and initial bite has been an issue on some of them.
More of an annoyance and I REALLY wasn't intimating I'd get into a wreck because of them (hence the 'haha'), I just hate pads with poor initial bite.
It really depends on the brand though and I've never used Akebono.

The German OEMs do a TON of testing with brake composition ....All of the factors are based upon performance and feel, dusting is weighted very low in the decision criteria....Personally I would much rather have great initial bite and lots of dust (was the car weekly and wax the rims) on a street car vs. no dust and not as great initial bite....
