911 Turbo 2011 vs E55 modded

A friend of mine just got a 911 turbo 2011, we went in a back halley and did 2 runs up till 120km/h so 65-70mph then had to break cuz end of road.

He got me by a cars length... I dint have esp off and there was some sand on the road and the road was sort of uneven, but still 1 car length... Pretty sand... Should I just give up on modding my car? i know we are 3X the weight, trunk + 2 extra seats... but I figured u know I wouldn't get raped... I was thinking about more mods but I figure at this point its useless... I can kill most sedans I encounter , most americans except maybe a modded cts v or highly highly modded muscle, but all srt8 and m3's m5's c63's , evo-10 which is mainly what I run into... I should just stop wasting $ because i wont kill a turbo I suppose

3X the weight? Your car is approx. 4000lbs. That would make the 911 1,333lbs. Ah, not. The 911 is approx. 3,500lbs.

It's your money. Ask yourself how much it's worth to you to beat a 911 turbo in a drag race. Or, maybe you should race a modded GTR. Then you'll either go broke trying or just sell the car.

Go rape a cts-v or better yet go line it up with a panamera.

I'd like to see how you do against a turbo panamera

there are plenty of modded e55's that can take a stock 997tt...but i'm sure with a few simple mods on the p-car and it's an entirely different story.

Turbo Porsches are quick cars no matter how you slice it.

I ran my buddies 01 TT with upgraded turbos, etc and I didnt fair very well when he turned the boost up (last 2 runs). See here *poopy video*

You need a 10.xx-11.1 E55 to beat a stock 997TT

Aren't 997.2's (PDK) pulling 60 in 3 flat? Though I read somewhere reputable that they actually did 2.8

insane!

You have brought up an interesting question?
The E55 AMG is a heavier car, mite not be the best aero dynamic designee, but the 5.5L motor is a great motor. If your having fun with your and feel like you want to add more MODS to it great. If you are starting to look at other cars then no do not add any more MODS.

Big different in performance and handling between my E63 and 997TT. You can't compare an apple with a melon.

is the porsche Tip or 6 speed? Is it a turbo s? if so your car is hauling the mail dude!

A turbo can go low 11s then the Turbo S with PDK tranny 10.7 @ 130

My E matched up pretty well with a stock 997.1 but comes 3rd-4th gear and things may get ugly

Most mags (hate to quote em) have the Turbo S (all Turbo S's have PDK) running low 6's in the zero to 100 measurement and high 2's in the zero to 60 sprint. These are stock cars with an easily used launch control. The transmission is so efficient in getting the power to the ground and couple that with AWD and the car is ferocious in stock format. Put a tune in the S and the car is even faster but no one has figured out how to get crazy hp with the PDK as it has its limitations after 600 hp.

Was the 2011 an S or standard Turbo and if it was a non S was it a 6 speed or PDK? There are not more tips after the 997.1 TT. All 2010's and newer are 997.2 TT's.

Since a stock 997.2 PDK Turbo/Turbo S are already wicked fast/quick... you only losing by a carlength especially to the 1/4 mile is already good enough. Your sedan is already very fast btw.

If you want to pull on a stock one, do a couple more mods and run him to higher speeds.

Gotta love them PDK transmissions.

According to the OP they only did runs to 120kph so the one car length could have been expanded on by the 997...

You are forgetting the one of the best mods out there that is cheap, and extremely potent my friend, Nitrous. Put a 100-125 shot of sauce on that beast, and you will start raping cars left right and center.

Even then...

A stock Turbo S PDK will be ahead of a Ferrari 458 Italia and Lambo Gallardo LP560 at least to a 1/4 mile from a dead stop.

That's already amazing considering the Turbo S's capabilities, less power and its amazing PDK transmission.

OP's modded E55 still isn't slow.

Its a a turbo NO S stock, from the start I could feel the sluginess from my car to actually get going compared to his, he then took me for a drive and even though u do not feel the power inside the car you can tell from the moment you press the response is that much faster, obviously its got 2 seats and no trunk, felt like a small rocket , where as mine feels like a brutal beast train, if you ask me if I had the cash, iD get these 2 combos, ml63 with 911 turbo s , or cayenne turbo s with lamborghini superlegerra. Although for the money and all the e55 is great, super sleeper can park anywhere it looks like every other e class benzo around, drives hard, and plenty of room and space for 4 friends and some luggage and groceries. I just wish it did not cost so much for maintenance... since my warranty has gone off from 60,000KM to 85,000Km my fuel pump i/c pump ball joints and the list goes on and on, basically in 1 year with towing and issues and rental cars and getting my friends to pick me up and drop me off. easily put 6000$ I do not want to see what happens after 100,000KM... also I have a e350 4matic up north, its got 103,000km thank god in warranty because had to change the camshaft 4000$ radiator 1000$ ball joints the list goes on , thank god it this was under warranty. W211 just very unrealiable I wish they werent.
