[AutoCar]: F10 M5 vs E63 AMG vs Jag XF-R

Justinwrock is correct
In Europe, mileage is calculated this way which has traditionally reflected less consumption.
1. City traffic with speeds up to 35mph from a cold start,
2. Highway travel at various speeds up to 80mph which follows the urban test.
3. A combined figure is also quoted showing the total fuel consumed in divided by the total distance traveled in both tests

Got it - thanks. Something still doesn't add up though. Benz website has the CLS63 at 15/22 (US) so combined it should be around 18. Oh well, its good to know that somewhere in the world a 15mpg car can be rated as high as 28mpg.

Mercedes-Benz didn't take time to come up with the E63 AMG after launching the E-class, an additional prove to show that the E63 AMG hasn't spent enough experience to compete with the new BMW M5. Anyways time will tell when future Pro drivers lap the Nurburgring with both cars but I'm 99% sure the new BMW M5 is the best sports sedan ever built.

As goes mileage remember UK gallons are bigger than ours, so 28 mpg combined equates to only around 23 mpg US. Still, both are impressive in this regard compared to their predecessors.
No doubt the W212 is a big step up in terms of handling and this new tt sounds like a peach. But I'd be VERY interested to see the Evo Magazine comparison (not to mention actually getting behind the wheel myself) before crowning the AMG King. As looks go I think this new M5 looks stunning - subtle yet menacing (as is the E63 too of course).

Can't wait till GTboard gets their hands on both an F10 M5 and E63TT AMG and run them side by side from rolling till very high triple digit speeds!
And of course throw in a race of both versus a Ferrari 458 Italia and Lambo Gallardo LP560 and it'd be almost sex.

There was a Jag booth with lots of the new Tatar Motors cars on display and no visitors to speak of. Those who visited were mostly ignored.
Any news on the Aston Martin AMG alliance?

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Yep, they will probably add 300 lbs of concrete to the trunk of the E63 and claim it is a special Renntech 700hp version that lost by 10 cars to the M5.

the article states the F10 M is faster but does not provide factual proof.
I do believe the M-DCT will be faster than the MCT, and the M5 will be faster against the 518hp E63. Due to the gearing and shifts.
But the gap won't be 3 to 4 seconds (0-150mph) like the old E55 and E63)
it will be very close.. .taking away the only advantage the E60 M5 had on the AMG cars.
Handling is just about even now... but I do think the M differential will make the difference around a road course.
Stock vs Stock, these 2 will be pretty even. Let's see how they do against the Panemera and the scrappy CTS-V.
