Question How different Trans are there for 63's?

After seeing that video of the new clstt walking the C63 I noticed how the C63 downshifts.Which trans in in the C63's? and are they just as good or better than our E63's trans?

So my questions is :

How many different variences of trans are there for the E63?

Are the TCU programmed much different?

And is the C63 better or worse than the E63?

I am comparing these to my current 07 E63.I searched a few threads to get my answer but didnt find it exactly.I "LOVE" how this C63 sounds on the downshift. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcAsY...ature=youtu.be

There was a YouTube video showing how to teach the 1-2 shift points.I cant find the video but that to me is more than I am willing to do as I dont want to harm the tranny in this car.I do baby the car alot as I have other MONSTERS to drive.
The 1 fun thing I like to do i nthis E63 is drive in M mode to hold the first 3 gear a tad longer than S-C mode does. The car sounds mean with my Deletes and X pipe.

I think there are two regarding the E63: the 7 speed Auto and the 7 speed MCT.

I dont know about the TCU programming but its obviously different between the Auto and the MCT. Seeing the CLSTT walk the C63 isnt so much the tranny as it is the Turbos and the HP and TQ range the M157 engine carries.

I didnt mean the tranny being the reason for that whoop ***.I meant listen how that bad boy downshifts. It sounds like a stick vs our E63's downshifts. I almost never downshift my 63 but I tried it to see if it had that double clutch sound and it does not.
Which years are equipt with auto and MCT? Are the C63's all MCT or other?

You might get better insight in the C63 forum but I think the C63 had the std auto 7 speed from 2009 to 2011 and gets the MCT for the 2012 MY.

I have the MCT in both my E63 and my CLSTT and the CLS sounds louder in downshifts.

The blip in downshift-- that is all software. The valve body from any 204 sedan is the same part #. Its the programming that does it all.

Now-- who can play with it!!

Yeah, it's all software...W211 E63 has Speedshift, C63 has Speedshift+ which blips the downshifts...W212 MCT > than either...

I wish that, I could have a throttle blipping feature introduced on my 07 E63
It's only software after all.

I know right...It would be so nice to not have to heel toe just to get it to downshift at any quick rate...

Although the hardware of the trannies is the same between the E63 and the C63, the more updated software of the tranny in the C63 makes a noticeable difference in the overall feel of the car. I wish we had the throttle blip in the E63 as well, it's such a cool feature.

In terms of upgrades and mods, the C63 will always be faster than the E-Class because of it's lighter weight and the availability of aftermarket parts to drop even more weight. In stock form, they should be very close with a slight edge to the E-Class.

Please explain how you execute the heel to toe .Give a example please.
I am so easy o nthis trans as I am probably paranoid to harm it.
Like I mentioned there is a video on how to train your 63 tranny to hold 1st gear longer but I cant find it on YouTube.

If you're in manual mode and want to snap them down semi-quickly you kind of treat it like a stick shift without the clutch. You basically brake with your heel and feather the throttle to keeps revs up and just paddle down gears. It's kind of like the blip but you have to do it yourself. I only really do it when I'm driving hard on the street. On the track I rarely let revs drop below 3,500 so snapping one down and I'm already there

On that note, and probably because I drive in M most of the time, in S when I plant the throttle it shifts around 7100-7200...

You almost NEVER downshift??? ... you either have super dirty wheels or clean 'em every day. The car sounds better (I think) the more you downshift. At 20,000 miles and continuous downshifting, my ride seems to sound better, deeper (and my wheels are cleaner, LOL)
