E55 nitrous setup

Hi, I want to do a few things to my car, one of them being nitrous.

I did a few searches and didn't find what I was looking for still.. Does anyone know where I can read about someones setup? Maybe with some installed pictures?

So I'm assuming you would typically run a single nozzle system.. where would I tap for fuel and what is the stock fuel pressure?

i can help you here, a friend of mine has an e55 with 175mm pulley and tune, he installed a wet nitrous universal kit 100 shot, on the second run his engine blow, he paid 5k for a used one, don't play with nitrous especially if the car is modded.

Hi

Nitrous is fine used it on modded cars. But you have to be careful not to use too much and use a controller

Well I'm pretty familiar with nitrous, just not with the specifics on this particular car.. I want to be in the 10's lol.. and obviously I will make other modifications, also.

This is not a small block chevy, AMG pistons are hard to find, and when one has a land failure, the cylinder wall (alum) will be damaged. Then what? Sleve one cyl or all 8?
All new pistons? You do know our pistons are cast, don't you?

Yes I do know the pistons are cast and the block is aluminum... yet still I see people spraying e55's all the time with success.

The letter "N" for Nitrous, also means "N" for No.

As recommended by Shardul and boy does he know the "E55K"
(Pulleys & Tunes) with lots of cooling, just ask him.

Shardul is the man! Take some advice. You can reach tens with other mods without Nitrous.

Aren't the only guys who have made it in the 10s spraying? The member Loco comes to mind where he said he had to spray in order to break in to the 10s on top of meth injection, headers, pulley, tune etc.

no way...there are plenty of cars with only moderate bolt-ons that can run 10's with good track conditions.

I was thinking of a small system instead of meth and came to some basic conclusions that I haven't vetted so take them for what it's worth. First for a wet system I was planning on installing after the IAT sensor. Reason being that if it's before the ECU will add timing due to the lower temp and you will have a grenade on your hands. That means either one nozzle on the splitter after the IAT sensor that feeds the surge tanks or two one on each feed to the surge tanks. I've been told fuel pressure is 4 bars (60 psi) but would verify that before finalizing the system. You can pick up the fuel from the driver side fire wall (it's essentially a -6 steel braide) or from the fuel rail which has a -6 shraider valve. Of course the valve will need to be removed which should be pretty simple. I was also thinking of getting a tune that already took a couple of degrees of timing out just to be safe.

I ultimately went the mod route with meth first but still have a small system that I am still debating to put on.

That's a big Negative! No spray on Loco's E55.

I remember seeing a thread titled saying he sprayed but just found it and he was just using nitrous to spray off the engine and parts to make it cold on top of it being 40 degrees outside! Those guys get serious too with skinny front tires and nice little light wheels in back with some drag radials.

Then ask the people you "see spraying all the time with success".

Fuel inlet is on the driver side of the fuel rail. you would need to do a "t" fitting there to tap. One thing to keep in mind as these AMG's run much higher fuel pressure so fuel jetting will be off. As for nozzel jet locations I would tap each surge tank and run 2 nozzels feeding each bank. Don't tap before the IAT as it'll let the engine run more timing which I am sure you know is bad with N2O.

I believe this is unknown terriotory for the majority of E55 owners so they are very skeptical about running it. If you run a small shot, and have it setup safely within the correct window of the rpm range, you should be ok.

With that been said, do you research, speak to the seasoned tuners for their input, and go for it mang

One of the first guys to break 10s with the juice tapped fuel right off the Schrader valve on passenger front of engine. Literally plugged right into the universal wet kit he purchased.

Don't know more than that so least that gets you in the right direction....

Lots of old posts on the junk so use that search tool.

First e55 to hit tens was using the spray. He had a pretty elaborate setup. There is also rumors of a full bolt on car with over 150 shot "rumors" but it's supposed to be the fastest.
