Hello everyone. I have been around this site for probably 6 or so months now, ever since I was considering getting a E55. I joined and started posting months ago but never introduced myself, so I figure maybe I should.
I've always loved cars- growing up. Mercedes became a reality during later days of highschool, when my step father had a 210 E320. I loved that car, and all benzes from there on out. Decided after high school to get professional bout it, and went off to school, ended up in MB Elite and then to dealership level from there. That was 10 years ago. Started off doing lots of warranty electrical work, as diagnostics was my strong point. And there was so much warranty diagnostic work back in the early 2000s we couldnt keep up. Became team leader for a couple years, yada yada. So, I have a great amount of experience and knowledge to share with you guys- from the dealership level. I know that lots of you guys hate the dealerships- and thats why I havent done this yet. I see/ know both sides, and I guess not all are created equal.
So back to the subject, I just picked up a 04 E55, pano, solar panels,KG,electric trunk, dynamic seats etc. 87k sticker. Silver w/black/blue interior and I am loving it. Taking it to Gainsville Nov. 5th to drag it, got some BFG drag radials to put on and I cant wait!

Congrats on the car! But I still hate the stealerships. My SA told me that a Honda Accord would out last a Merdedes. I immediately changed SA's. Lol

Congrads and welcome - it's a legit forum - what's amazing, I find, is what can be found both in and outside the AMG sections....
I've actually hated MB dealerships (stems back to the nineties when my parents drove them) but my two latest experiences have been extremely positive. . .I'll still take it to my indy boys for all my maintenance and cosmetic and performance mod but when my warranty company mandates a dealership, I am no longer in a state of fear and loathing. . .funny thing was, I HATED this dealership until I got hooked up with a new SA there. . .by a member of this forum, who's also taught me how to drag race, and do a standing burn out on DR's, and. . . and. . .and. . .
Once again, welcome and enjoy!!!!!

As always, it's about people. Folks that have had bad experiences have just dealt with the wrong people. I have had great experiences with dealerships when I interview techs and find the ones that I get along with that seem knowledgeable. Once I find the right person to work on my car, I keep going back to that one guy.
Glad you are here and I look forward to your contributions. Just ignore emoving though.lol

Welcome, congrats, and have fun at the dragstrip. These cars will shock many spectators down the 1/4 mile. Remember to take off the grill, fold back the rain flaps in front of the intake, and take out the filters for a run or two. Report back an 11.x sec pass.

haha I test drove it in my mind from the showroom
im sure it drives nice tho, all I hope is that its more reliable than my e55 garbagio.
in less than a year these are my repairs :
secondary air pump
heat change over valve
radiator
intercooler pump
fuel tank
supercharger clutch
fuel pump
ball joints
ac compressor
2X to shop for electronics malfunction
my NAV doesnt work anymore it keeps searching when I click location and all I get is hear the lady give directions so I gotta click repeat like 15X
parktronic gave up it just kepted beeping
Im sure Im forgetting some, all this in 12-13K miles
Just curious what do you guys have to say about that? except the obvious fact next car I get full warranty, but I mean it only got 50k miles... I understand its a high end vehicle but seriously...

Became team leader for a couple years, yada yada. So, I have a great amount of experience and knowledge to share with you guys- from the dealership level
My best friend is SLR SLS cert'd shop foreman of the big dealer up here in SLC. He got on a few years ago and was trying to help people out but gave up after a half dozen "you have NO f'in idea what you are talking about noobie" replys. It can get frustrating for someone of your experience.
Be patient with us and please please share any of that knowledge.
