HELP! CAR WASH now ERRORs & Limp Mode.

Good Afternoon,

Has anyone had this problem before? I took the car to a car wash and immediately had these errors on my dash:
1) ESP malfunction visit workshop
2) ABS malfunction visit workshop
3) Tire Pressure System Not Available

Car went into limp mode, power steering hard. Engine turns on and idles fine
I opened the hood and notice water drops on top of my ECU box. One corner seemed like it was not locked tight (the one side facing the engine). I opened the cover and put my hands in there everywhere and did not feel any wetness. I did leave the cover off for a few days. Does my car need to be re-set at the dealer? I had no codes on scan tool.

Please help, what should I do?

Never heard of that. Hell, I powerwashed my CLS motor and had no issues. I would let it dry out, pull the battery cable and see if it resets.

Let it sit for a day or two if you can, if your car is an autobot, it should fix itself. At least thats how all my errors and dash message went away on my s55. I was also stuck in first/second gear too, but that too fixed itself. Weird...

Did they drive it over the undercarriage power wash service?

I don't think so:
EXTERIOR PLUS
• Exterior Wash & Towel Dry
• Blue Coral Triple Treatment
• Rust Inhibitor
• Tire Shine

I have had that happen one time before though. Shorted my $400 ignition coil or something like that.

I think I remember this being a big problem a few years ago. Do a search. Might have even been on benzworld

Get it connected up to a proper STAR DAS tool.

Glad to hear they did not use a preasure washer on your interior

All those errors are related to wheel sensor which one I don't know. Check to see if one is loose.

Which sensor? Do you mean the ride height? <Thanks, I'll look at that now>

SAKO- I think my car is an AUTOBOT, lol This morning, I grabbed my aftermarket warrantee paperwork and fired him up. The errors were still there, steering was hard. Backed out and got onto the road, then.... steering kicked in and the errors went away!!! I ran it up and down the community, then I here a bunch a clicking... the clock set the right time.

Parked Sideswipe back in the garage and left him.

Thanks for the inputs everyone!

Good to hear. Sounds like you are getting some type of connection wet or sensor wet and just needs a few days to dry off. Next time that happens would be smart to try to get into any dealer that has Star Das...even a little Indy shop to try to find that sensor and replace.

Happened to me once due to washing the engine bay, let the car sit for 2-3 days and try again. It will most likely dry off.

This just happened to me after a full (underbody included) car wash. Happened twice on the way from the car wash, resetting on its own both times.
