I finally bought my dream car!

Hey guys, long time no see. Last time I was here I owned a C-class diesel that ended up spending 1.5 years at the workshop until I finally gave up and bought a better car. Took a huge loss but learned a valuable lesson that I still keep with me today.

But enough about that. I’ve dreamed about an E55 for over ten years now, and I’ve spent countless hours on different forums reading about them. But every time I’ve come close to buying one, something else has always caught my attention. Last time it was a Corvette, and before that it was a Toyota MR2.

This time I followed through, I sold my Vette and bought a plane ticket the week after to pick up a beautiful 2004 E55 with pretty much every option you could ever want. Bi-xenon, distronic, ventilated seats with massage, H/K and a lovely Designo interior in leather and alcantara. Not too many miles either with just 81k on the clock.

This is my forever car, hope you guys enjoy!

(And yes, this is the car that lost a rear tire on the Nürburgring, I’m sure you’ve all seen the video lol.)

Thanks bro! I have never seen it before, but it looks so good.

It was the previous owner who drove it, and the lug nuts were too short. He had aftermarket rims but used the original lugs.

Thanks man! And yeah I’ve seen lots of instagram reels and YouTube videos with the crash, and people always have the weirdest theories about it.

It wasn’t that bad, besides the obvious it also had a fender replaced. But it’s as good as new now, previous owner had it done at a workshop.

Another fun option is the electric tailgate. Euro spec cars didn’t have the option of a third row so we got the tailgate instead.

Thanks!
Aftermarket usually has different bolts too, where the bolt shoulders have a 60° angle where Mercedes bolts have a round shoulder.

Anyways good to see, that the car is back on the road again. It looks gorgeous!

Yeah the guys on Reddit thought it was aftermarket, but I actually found another ‘04 with the same interior. Definitely rare!

Glad to see this one went to a happy home. I was worried it would end up written off from that youtube video. We share a dream; I've had my E55 wagon for 5 years now. Just crossed 200k miles and I can't see myself ever selling it. And mine came with virtually zero options.

It sure did, I can honestly see myself keeping this until I die. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. Sure, a Porsche Turbo or a McLaren 720S would be cool too, but as a blue collar guy it’s not gonna happen in this lifetime. And if I could afford one of those, I could probably afford to keep this one as well - so no matter what I’m gonna keep it.

On my way back from picking it up I stopped at a gas station, and when I came out a dude asked me if it was a real 55, and when I told him yes he asked me if I wanted to sell it (he was apparently a car dealer). I told him straight up that this car will never be for sale.

Good on you man, how has the ownership been? Have you had any problems?
