suspension issue but not sagging / something new....!?!?

i have had my car looked at from two diff shops now - both are telling me the same thing....
my car sagged in front right corner about a year ago. replaced the single strut with an arnott one. now, it is incredibly squeaky - drives me crazy!!
all my front end parts are tight. doesn't need ball joints, control arms or anything. though my control arm bushings were cracked, I replaced them with new bushings. still squeaks of course....
told it's the strut assembly, squeaks when turning wheel diff directions (either when driving or parked), when going over bumps or small imperfections in the road - and I believe 100% of the noise is coming from the left front corner, the old strut !!
is this characteristic of a bad strut?? i have always heard of leaking as primary cause for replacement, though mine doesnt leak. anyone else experienced these problems or have any suggestions?? i am told there is nothing to grease to make noise go away.... thanks.

Sorry to hear that - I had the "squeaking" from all sides - all at once - it was my ball joints (they were all replaced under warranty) - since you said that's not the case, unfortunately, I have no other suggestions for you although it did mirror almost exactly what you are saying. . .

i always thought ball joints would in fact make this same type of noise. however maybe my sources are wrong. one of the places was just a normal auto repair shop that took a quick peak.
i'm going to my dedicated mercedes indy mechanic and/or the dealer. i do think it seems like ball joints as well. time to get more opinions to get to root of issue. thanks

Definitely sounds like your ball joints. Good luck getting it figured out.

2007 SL55 AMG
a bad strut could make a pop pop sound like if you have a bad shock mount. if its not your balljoints or sway bar bushings it may be the strut.
