Exclamation Need a favor. Anyone in Chicago/Suburbs with STAR? Suspension error.

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone in the Chicago area with STAR would be willing to help me out. I'm getting the Airmatic warning again just like I did last year, but I can't find any leaks this time. I have no idea what's going on, since the car stays level, raises up and down, etc just like normal. Would anyone be willing to help me out, plug in, and pull codes/run an actuator test to help pinpoint the issue? I've helped other forum members in the past(CPS and headlight replacement), but now I need to "cash in" and humbly ask for help. I sincerely appreciate any offers!

I know I could just take it somewhere, but I would rather work through it myself so I can learn.

Izzy

most likely your pump is on its way out judging from your symptoms. The error that you will get when you do a pneumatic test for the pump with STAR will say Time to fill central reservoir too long. The pump cost about $ 300

That's exactly what it said last time, but it turned out to be a leak. I actually have a good used pump sitting in the garage, but I'd like to take a closer look before I tear into it. Thanks!

Thanks! PM sent.

Keith, I may hit up Jake if I don't get it resolved soon. Is EC still in Palatine? I went to their shop a year and a half ago to have my car tuned but I don't know if they moved.

Lightbulb

I wanted to take a minute to update everyone. I did some troubleshooting on my own. Listened for leaks, sprayed soapy water on all the air line connections, visual inspection, etc.. I didn't find anything, so I went ahead and threw in the compressor I had laying around and it seemed to do the trick. No more warnings, and the suspension changes position about five times more quickly. Shardul was right, thanks!
