I bought these paddle shifters from another member here a while ago in order to retrofit them onto my e55-- these are e63 shifters.
However, when I took my shifters apart I noticed that one of the connectors(the one on the left in first picture) doesn't match. My current connector style is the one in the right(the smaller one) and the left(bigger) is the original that plugs into the e63 steering whee.
Is there any way to change the connectors to make them both match? Is it as simple as just splicing the right connector?

2006 e55 came with a small 2pin connector on each shift button that both plugged into a "Y" harness that in turn had a single 3 pin connector (1 ground, 2 up, 3 down).... HOWEVER, the picture of the 2-pin connector that you show does not look like any of those. do you have any more info or pics of the shift buttons that are currently in your wheel?

my car is a 2006 model built in January of that year. If I remember correctly while researching back then, I shouldn’t need any modules.

I didn’t take any when I disassembled the steering wheel. At this point I don’t really care to retrofit the shifters anymore since I really don’t miss them much in the e55. However, I’d like to put back matching pins to fit either the 2005+ e55 or the corresponding e63 to sell them back.

I would like to help, but the picture that you showed of your existing connector does NOT look like an e55 connector (it does, however, like like a later model paddle connector). Did your car have button on the steering wheel when you started? or had it already been upgraded to paddles?
I don't have a picture of 2006 e55 buttons and "Y" harness, but is looks VERY similar to this set from a 2004 (2006 used silimilar buttons with different part numbers AND its "Y" harness had a 3-pin white connector where the one shown has a 2-pin white connector). does your set-up look like this? e55 shift buttons

if I remember correctly, the pins look like the 2-pin red ones in this picture. Don’t remember seeing the white one honestly. I’m not trying to install them anymore, just need to put matching oem pins.

I still have the original buttons like the ones in your picture.
if the buttons still have their red connectors , then they should be plugged into the "Y" harness (similar to that shown in my pic, but with a 3 pin white connector) ... IF the "Y" harness is missing ... then you need one.
I'm not clear on where the connector on the right in your picture came from .... did someone splice some wires in the paddle harness?

Yeah, it looks like the previous owner spliced that connector in place of the original. Don’t know why he would need mismatched pins.

If you no longer have the "y" harness you will need one. if you have it, but it does not have the correct connectors, then you can re-connector it using this pinout as your guide
