Why do SLR's put down 600+whp on our same superchargers?
has anyone looked at the vath one? i am assuming its just an under the s/c replacement one given that claimed increased efficiency is in the 5-8% range

i looked up the german site and there are pics there but looks jsut like a heat exchanger and not the s/c intercooler (and yes i know a h/e is technically an I/c tambien

Weistec is about to release their new 3.0 liter twin screw system with a very similar air to water intercooler setup for the 55K!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Fuel system & injectors, Pistons, cranckcase (non oil) , engine head, S/C ratio, intake, camshafts, lots of cooling mods, TB is completely diffrent, bypass valve is part of the inlet (E55k is under the S/C), S/C oil has a cooling system that the oil moves to a cooler and comes back, SLR manifold is between LT and short headers (medium). SS cats in exhuast.
these are the things i noticed, after installing some mods on a 722S we were able to reach 650rwhp (stock 530rwhp) dynoroom temp was 37C with no fan on 93 pump gas. and there is still some more room to make it reach more and it revs to 7200RPM, i think even 700rwhp is possible with more mods. it showed more power than a modded SL65BS.
Jeremy tuned it from OE Tuning.

i think someone was making larger of these, a member here, Exotic-metal i think.
same concept.
cooling is the min thing.
i remember in summer (outide temp 40C) with lots of WOTs, MAX IATs reached 62C.
after moding it.

What's the peak torque btw and I thought the highest for an SLR was ~630 though, the Renntech car that ran a low 10, the fastest Mercedes time so far. Do you have a video of the dyno?
Dyno Dynamics, Stock C63 shows about 340-350 rwhp on the same dyno.

There are some cooling benefits of an open deck block, but the closed deck can take more power. As defection is greatly reduced with pig power on a closed deck block. I bet if we got up to massive power levels. You would see some people having issues with an open deck block.
I think forged pistons and rods are great. As they can handle big power. However once you start knocking on the door of huge power (700-800whp???) i'm not sure our mass produced 55 block will be able to take it.
With that said its more than just the pistons, rods, cams, and cooling. This block in the SLR is stronger than your run of the mill 55 block.

I'l try to get some definitive info from my U.S. source when I get back to FL in January.
Lightweight forged connecting rods really doesn't say much though and the 55K also has lightweight forged connecting rods. The SLR's rods looks identical to the 55K's and I would think that if they were Ti rods they would be thicker. Not to mention I would believe that most articles would actually state that the rods are Titanium since that metal is so unique.
I look forward to any additional info you can get on this.

I'd also be surprised if anyone (who knows what they're doing) recommends a Ti con rod in a high-torque application like a supercharged motor.
